knocking engine?
how can you tell when your car is knocking. because tonight i was revving my engine and it sounded like there was sand grindingin my engine. then i popped the hood and i heard this knocking from my engine so ipushed on the spark plug wires and on two of um when you pushed down i could feel something hitting against them like the piston was pushing awainst the plug.any suggestions on what it might be and how to fix it?

detonation or knocking won't happen while the car is idling(unless there is somethng seriously wrong with the engine). when was the last time you changed the oil?(just curious)

maybe someones in the engine trying to get out... when someone knocks, you say "whos there?...
 ok no... it may be your valves... when did you last replace your timing belt? or have you even?sometmes people tend NOT to ever pay attention to the timing belt then they start crying when their valves have twisted and stuff.. you may need a lil higher grade fuel and some valve adjustments

i have a 120 thousand on it. i drive it like its my last day on earth and the timeing belt was replaced in october after i wrecked it. does the timing belt ever need to be adjusted?
