My 95 Max VS 89 mustang

Me and my friend want to race each other and i have a 95 auto max and he has a 89 auto mustang. he trash talks alot saying maxima's are slowass sedans. how bad would i kill him???? Also can you guys tell me the 1/4mile times for 95 auto Maxima's and 2002 auto mustangs. Thanx

hmmm I guess his rustang is V8 5.0 and I think he will own you if his car in good shape and he knows how to drive. What mods do your and ur friends car have? 5.0 Rustang is not a joke in racing otherwise you are sporting turbo under your hood.

1/4= low to mid 15's for auto 95. If he is 5.0 he will own you unless you are boosted, even if he is auto.

i would think that jus him asking should say its not a 5.0, he should kno that he would get owned by a 5.0.

Thats true, but never know. Maybe he just forgot to mention. And im guessing in 1989 they made Ford Rustang in 5.0 ONLY Thats just my guess

It could be that 89 for banger supercharger the SVO.

no, i don't think so, i'm pretty sure the SVO died a couple years before then...and it was turbo btw.

a 5.0 won't hand you your ass, but he has a huge torque advantage, so drive well if you want to have a chance

The 5.0 GT does the quarter mle in about 15.8sec that is for the GT fast back. Then if he has a 5.0 LX its a little slower unless he has the perfromance package on it which gave it the same torque as the GT and can go as fast as the GT.

Just race the dude and see for yourself. if the mustang is in good shape all luck to you.
if it isn't than don't sweat it...but you have to make sure you don't burn out in the beginning or it's bye bye...

I used to have a '93 LX 5.0 coupe Auto. It ran 13.5's day in and day out. No problem. All I had was UDP's, full exhaust, 3.73 gears, K&N, and a really good tune.

Coupes are faster than LX hatchbacks or GT's. They are about 400-500 pounds lighter than GT's. Everything is exactly the same except for the body..you do the math. Plus the Coupes have a more rigid chassis. All have a ton of low end torque.

On the otherhand, I used to blow the doors off some other comparable mustangs. They were always shocked and hurt that my car was faster than theirs with barely any mods. I dont know maybe mine was a factory freak or more likely theirs was a POS in bad shape.

If his in good shape and he knows how to get that torque to the ground you wont win. I would race him anyways it might be alot closer than he might expect.
