"Dime '69" candy 442 PROGRESS
Laid down Tamiya grey primer, Tamiya Gold, Tamiya Mica Red and Tamiya Clear. Just got done polishing the passenger side, trunk and roof. Still have the driver side and hood to go.
Most likely this car will have the stock style racing stripes but instead of dual black stripes I will try to use one thick louis vuitton stripe surrounded by one black pinstripe. Exterior trim will be BMF Black Chrome opposed to regular chrome. Wheel options are still up for grabs. Either gold wire wheels with black or Mica spokes or Work Meister S2 without the decals because....well...I want them to look like American knock-offs and not the true Japanese tuning wheel. Motor upgrades to be posted later.....

The paint looks great! This is one of AMT's great kits.

I'm going to take advantage of the nice weather tomorrow and attempt to get some flake shots. I finished polishing the body. I'm doing the hood at the moment. The block, oil pan and side of the heads are painted straight Mica Red so it's not a 100% match but close enough. I'm still deciding what kind of modifications I want to do performance wise or if I want to add some photo-etched accessories. If I go with the Work Meisters (or any open wheels) I will equip the car with SAS photo-etched slotted brakes with Brembos. Tomorrow I will pick up the LV pattern.

Will look even better with the interior and wheels etc.
I say if you do the stripe to not put wires on it but I guess you figured... |
