It's a model that's been photo-shopped into a scene...

Look at the shadow under the model and then look at all the other shadow in the picture.....different times of day so to speak.....

My computer doesn't like linking to that picture. Could somebody upload it, please?

Not for certain, but I don't think that Dan Gurney's Galaxie (if that is the Galaxie) was ever painted red. The only pics I've seen were white with red lettering, and then it was either English Motors or Harvest Motors and Salem, VA. But don't quote me on this.

Or could it be a pic of the real car photoshopped onto one of your model display diorama's?

Sorry for the confusion on the "real or full-sized" as I was a little tired when I posted it. And AirAllen01, Gurney drove a solid red '65 Ford Galaxie and a solid red '68 Cyclone. He also drove a solid white #0 '63 Ford at Daytona and they took a "1" off the #121 '64 Riverside car to run it as a #12 in Daytona. Nascar only allowed one or two digit numbers by then. The Riverside race was an FIA race. I do research for decal and diecast companies so documentation is a must.

He WON that race, actually he won five of the eight he ran, so I don't think smoke would be coming from the exhaust. Tires maybe, but exhaust smoke usually signals trouble on one of these cars.

Hey AirAllen01, you're quite welcome. Love your middle quote. "Yeah, I'm a rock alright". Been there, done that, even got a souvenir rock from the lady to prove it. Just like Wyatt though, it was DEFINATELY worth it!

But I'm right to say it's a Ford Galaxie right? I would still have to say model though, cuz it just doesn't have that look, but if it is real then I don't know what I'm saying. So what's the answer?

Here goes. I almost didn't do this pic because I couldn't find the background shot I wanted to use. After I had shot the pic of my model a friend gave me a copy of a special insert in one of the Ford magazines spotlighting Ford's 100 years in racing. There staring back at me was an almost exact copy of my shot but of the real car with Gurney in it. I looked and looked for both the mag and the pic I had scanned but couldn't find either. Just before giving up entirelyI found a blurred 110 Instamatic shot that a friend had given me he had shot at Riverside of the Gurney '68 Torino. It wasn't what I really wanted but real shots of Riverside without a mall on it are hard to come by now so I used it. I know I don't fool anyone with this stuff, it's become something of a game to pretend I do on the boards I post on. Everyone joins in and enjoys it. They know that I'm gonna slip in a highly "doctored" shot of a real car one day as a model and we all enjoy the game.

Sorry for breaking your rules but since no one had posted a comment after I added my explaination I thought it had been overlooked. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers and I appologize for the gaffe.
