Radiator detailing

right=before left=after

I am not very happy with the color! Alclad II Aluminium wasn't a good idea i think but i will make my decision tomorrow with "daylight" ;-))) !!!

Saint.....I noticed you have a bottle of tamiya "smoke" in the background. Do you use that as a black wash? Anyways, I've used Alclad II polished aluminum on the radiator on my 1/12th kit and really liked the way it turned out. You should give it a try if you have any on hand.

I agree on the polished aluminium, but use it over a white primer coat instead of the gloss black coat (which is suggested). Radiators look great btw, as does the rest of your model

The kit looks great! I think the radiators do need polished aluminum though. If you need another set let me know and i can send you a set i have from this kit.

Keep up the good work!

Your build up prompted me to buy this kit at a show a while back, and every time I see an update I want to hurry up and get started on it. I'm going back and forth on whether I want to use any photoetch on the car, as it doesn't really seem like it will make that much difference, nor would the Accu-station suspension. (Yeah, I know, for ultimate realism...) But it seems like the model comes very detailed to begin with, any comments on that from anyone who's built the model yet? I will be having to invest in some Allclad II to do justice to this thing... I guess I'll do a Google search to find some. And also, anyone have any idea whether Scale Motorsport has a template carbon fiber set for this in the works...?

Anyway, great buildup, TheSaint, the thing looks beautiful. I can't wait to see the finish product. It's going to look marvelous.

Re: Yes guys......BMW Williams FW-24 *detailed*

my oh my... your FW24 looks almost like a real one!! I did one too but the detailling is far from yours, you did a perfect job there!!

questions here: how did u get the exhaust pipe have the reflective nature? and how do you know how long you have to wait for the paint to dry to apply the masking tape onto the body? I have tried to do the same but the surface gets the irritating orange peel due to the stickiness of the tape after getting it off...
