Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Nice! Looks very mean, all the detail work is coming together nicely, excellent!

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Nice work on the hinges, that must have taken some real eyeballing and precise measurements to get the pins to line up so perfectly like that. Excellent sheen you have on the dash and seats, very realistic. Goes perfect with that beautiful paintjob and bodywork you did.

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Many thanks for your great comments, Iīm very happy reading them
It was very close and this build could be dead.... very close.... unbelievable how clumsy and stupid I can be. Nearly every paintjob goes wrong, like here the final clear cote. At first my airbrush decided to spew some huge paint dots between the nice waterlike X22. Ok no problem, spray a bit of thinner and everything is smooth, just a bit too much of waterlike stuff like thinner and X22. But OK, no problem.... so be clumsy and drop the wet thing into the dirt and watch in slow motion how it rolls and pics everything up. Oh dear.... then let it dry and sand, but it wasnīt dry everywhere, so big scraches and damaged also the custom made G.T.500 decal stripes .... You maybe can imagine hear my cry : "Eleanor, donīt do this to me!" You know what? I HATE MODELING! Anyway, I managed to fix it good as possible, there are still some scratches, the rear fender looks like the tire exploded by doing a burnout, but I donīt care anymore. I just canīt because I want to finish it before the dead line. I completed the bodywork by adding lights, windows, emblems and the grilles. Now I need to finish the firewall and add it into the body, that I can start to build the interior into the body. Then some wires and a little touch on the engine, ah, and scratchbuild an intake with a little blower I think. Then I can start to put it together, connect all the hoses and wires and praying I get all together without damaging more. For these pics I added the body to the chassis without the interior. The stance is not correct yet, the rear will be a bit higher same like the front. I hope you like my build though. Please enjoy the pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Firewall and now flocked cover, completed NOS bottle ![]() No firewall inside, shows the brakelines and engine ![]() Rear view, the hinge needs some adjustment after I maneged to damage during polish.... ![]() Thatīs my favourite pics and it makes to like modeling again |

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
I'm sorry to hear about your painting woes, that can really ruin your day for sure. But you seemed to have completely fixed it judging by the pictures. This is really a beautiful model, inside and out. The lines coming from the firewall are really well done too.

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Looks superb, can't see any of the damage. Paint finish looks brilliant to me, and I think the ride height looks perfect as it is!

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Thanks very much for your feedback guys!
![]() Yep. I seem to be better in recover than paint, I have now build nearly 20 cars which I showed on the web, and honestly, only 1 of them was painted perfectly smooth without any pain or peel. And it was nailpolish over Alclad black ![]() Maybe I find out one day the easy way.... there is a way, right? ![]() Edit: no it was 2, rallye black from huge spray can |

I have been building for 20+ years, and never have I done such an outstanding job on ANY build, or even any one aspect of any of my builds. You have definitely set a benchmark! I have a revell 64 'Stang 'Verty, and was considering an "elanore" build, but I don't think I could even come close to what you have here. I wish I could just see that model in person, the internet pics, no matter how high the quality, just do not do that car justice, I'm sure. Be as humble as you like, but that car is one of the best on A/F for sure.

Re: 1967 Shelby Eleanor
Hey risko, if Boss says it's good, then you KNOW it's good! haha
I must ask where you got the cobra emblems on the fenders. I'm doing a 99 cobra, and the detail is getting lost under paint.
