Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

as for cam shafts, can you use the GST ones or after market GST ones or will you need them?
and cam gears as well aftermarket or stock GST or stock 420a
and when i go for nitrous i'll assume it would be unwise to run a dry kit becuase of the turbo, so a wet kit is best?

right now i'm searching for a crappy RS or esi to start a project :-P being broke sux

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

hmm i was looking at my oem manifold and im wondering what if i just cut the dp flange off and weld on a t3 flange? it looks like the flow is hidious but for a budget turbo kit would it work? im only lookin to push 6 psi max... peace

Hey All

I'm seriously considering buying a 1995 Eagle Talon ESi. Its a pretty worn out car (300k), im wondering if the engine would withstand turbocharging, and how much would it cost me to get it done professionally..... this may seem pretty abstract I'm new to cars.

peace
A

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

let's just say....it most likely won't hold up, depending on how old the engine is, but a body w/ 300k miles on it, is bound to just fall apart

K, I have a 97eclispeGS spyder, as most of you kno its a speical 2.4L compare to the starderd 2.0. It is a daily driver, just wanna feel comfortable and love the car. When I look up the basic modifications(headers, intake,) They never have it for the spyder editions . makes me :|

any ideas on like just want simples mods i can do for it. Dont need much speed

And if anyone has this specific car that has done mods to it. I would love having a conversation with you

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

look on the previous page.. you can put a dohc head on there and get some power that way.. also that thing is a 4g64... you can bolt a turbo system off a gst on there rather easily...

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

ok guys i think im almost done pieceing my kit together. tell me what you think

t3 turbo (.48/.63 if i remember right)
custom log type manifold
tial 33mm external wastegate
2g eclipse smic (might have a fmic dont know yet)
crushed 1g bov
mbc off ebay
walbro 225lph fuel pump
jackson fmu 12:1
1g dsm 450cc injectors
0-30 vac 0-20 boost gauge
a whole bunch of nylon tube

i still need to get a oil feed/return setup and im going to go ahead and order some arp head studs. does anyone know were i can get a schematic showing how to run all the tubing from like the mbc and bov and fmu and stuff? its confusing me. i think im forgetting a few parts but thats basically what my setup will look like.

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

If I put in all new Pistons, Rings, Cams, ECU, Valves, Rods, Etc. How much boost would my eclipse be able to handle. I am friends with a very experienced welder so I can get some Fabricating done for little to nothing. What kind of aftermarket parts should I buy. And what kind of turbo should I install.

Question, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a turbo engine and drop it into your current car. The reason I ask is because I have a 94 Talon n/t that I am going to get the turbo engine for, and from japanese motors I get one for less then a grand. Wouldn't this be the best way to go and then spend the extra 500-1000 on extra performance stuff.
