Thumbs up Hah

that's..........cute, now if you used the other half of your brain you'd see that he was responding to me, when he assumed I was installing the engine myself, in which case I'm not. Nice post though, it sounded good

ive been reading around on your forum, and everybody's (mainly in this post) is anti drag and all drift. first of all, the 240, although not specifically built for it, is not a bad drag car at all; light wieght, rwd, oem suspension has great weight transfer. also, is no body here a grip fan?! I know when I bought my 240, I was doing it for the outstanding grip capabilities; it's very well balanced, tons of aftermarket support, again, lightweight, and rwd.
don't get me wrong, drifting is an excilent sport that i hope gets more american support, beyond cops looking out for it.
there is a compromise between show and go, some of you have recognized that, others either haven't yet, or are just ignorant. i personally am not going to do any exterior modifications with the exception of exhaust, and eventually wheels (right now im running in the stock class in solo II (plus im broke)) but that's not the point. it's not 'all go and no show' or your a worthless ricer.
to those who this doesn't apply to, sorry for wasting your time. to others, i hope you rethink some of the advise you give/people you flame.

a)you just got here. don't tell us how to run our forum. that's just the way things work around here, and you'll have to get used to the way things go.
b)alot of people on this forum DO like drag racing. there are a few of us (me included) that PREFER drifting, but i can certainly respect a hardcore 240SX drag racer.
c)i realize it's not "all go, NO show". as for myself, once i buy my 240SX in the spring, i'm setting it up for drift and actually using it (unlike some people i've encountered who drift-ize their cars and never use them to drift), but i WILL be making SOME body mods, such as a nice subtle G-Corporation body kit and a wangan wing, and of course some racing wheels. i'm just saying i'll spend MOST of my money on performance related items.

yes that was my first post, but im a regular on fa, and ive been reading around on this forum for a while. i wasn't telling you how to run your forum at all, i was making the point that y'all are giving all the newbees the impression that the 240 is only good for drifting, which is not true. I'm also not attacking anybody, just asking y'all to consider what you're saying in the eyes of a newcomer to the 240 community. i would type more but i dont' have time

i don't really see why you guys are putting down SCC and Super Street so much. i subscribe to SS and, admittedly, it's not exactly the best source of information, but for someone with limited actually useful car knowledge (like myself) it'll suffice. i don't usually learn much from each issue, but i still enjoy reading the articles to see what kinds of projects people are doing and looking through the ads to see what kind of aftermarket products are out there. i would understand your insults if Super Street were regarded as the absolute authority on import car tuning, but to most people it isn't. some naive people treat it as god-sent information, and it may kind of ruin the import scene among younger people who think they need to buy a civic because they're all over the magazine's pages, but eventually those people will grow up and buy something they actually want instead of something they just think they should buy. i believe the magazine is intended to entertain rather than inform, so let's stop talking as if primedia has claimed absolute tuning superiority.

besides, the kind of people who read SS hoping to become automotive authorities are the same kind of people that put an intake on their mom's grocery-getter and should simply be ignored.

I still read super street and scc. have a subscription to both actually and they expire in feb 04. I plan on renewing both of them as well. I just read the mags for fun because like you said, some of the articles are entertaining and it's fun to see what project they are working on next. I like scc better then ss but they are both still good magazines IMO

the main reason i don't like SS is because their writers are complete and utter morons. the articles are crap in which they try to poke fun at each other or make stupid, corny jokes. also, they're a "converted ricer magazine", meaning they were strictly Honda/rice until just recently when they thought "hey, let's turn completely JDM just so we'll be kool." now, don't get me wrong. i like reading the magazine, but the only reason i do read it is for the pictures of insanely sweet JDM rockets like 1000hp Hirata Engineering R33's and Signal S15 Silvia's. there is still a high occurence of rice in it, and until they get rid of that and get some competent writers, then my views will stay the same.

SCC on the other hand is great. they're truly a Sport Compact Car magazine, in that they focus on ALL small performance vehicles, not just Honda's. they've had many Silvia's, Evo's, Skylines etc., and even some super old cars, like Volvo's etc. to them, basically anything that's fast and "compact" is fair game, which i think is kool. they also have a very low occurence of rice, which is good. they're more performance geared. also, their writers KNOW HOW TO WRITE! sure i'll read these 2 mags, but i'd still take an Option or Option2 over them any day.
