I was thinking on more of a timing scale of manuals vs. autos.

Auto setup. Have to pull your foot off the break and place it on the gas.

Manual setup. Have you put foot on gas rev engine high and just drop the clutch.

I would think dropping the clutch would be faster than lifting your foot up to place it on another pedal.

oh well. I still wouldn't trade my manual in for an auto.

oh yea, I drove a manual and decided never to go back. I love drivin' it.
ok, I think fly meant, generally speaking... A car pulls up next to you on the red, wants to race. He's got an automatic. You've got a manual. Odds are that your manual will lauch faster. Especially with front wheel drive.

99+ v6 mustangs are either 190 or 193 horsepower
GT mustangs are 260 horsepower
99 and 2001 Cobras are 320 horsepower
2003 Cobras are 390 horsepower
Mach I mustangs are 300 horsepower
Bullitt Mustangs are 270 horsepower

Remember, the v6's have 225 lbs of torque, any v8's have a minumum of 300 lbs of turque. Beating a mustang is no easy thing. Well, after 1999, that is....

I had a 2000 v6 5speed mustang until a month ago, and I LOVE my 2002 Civic Coupe

Fly, on an auto, you can hold the brake down and rev the gas, and merely release the brake pedal. Two footing, while usually bad for the transmission, is often done when drag racing an automatic. Heel-toeing is what i use for my manual.

I don't know why you are telling me this. I have a MANUAL 2002 Civic EX.

My friend has the AUTOMATIC 2000 Mustang V6.

I know how to race, he doesn't race at all, except for when he runs against me.

I just installed my Revo Short Shifter and Kumosport Bushings. I can own him I know I can.

We just haven't gotten a chance to race again.
