I met a good lawyer a few years ago. I bought a used car and took it in to have the air conditioner core cleaned out (you wouldn't believe the shit that lives in there) and the mechanic found some left handed luckies tucked away in there. I got a visit from police while at work and calmly explained my situation. My lawyer showed in court that I bought the car 2 hours earlier and dropped it off to have some work done. I still don't know why I couldn't represent myself, but he didn't charge me very much. I just paid him a couple hours and a few dollars for a drug screening.

enginerd:
I read a story similar to that in the paper. A guy had bought a Ram truck at a police auction. On the way home the truck kept dying. He filled it up, and all it took was 4 gallons. The problem kept happening so he had it towed to the dealer. The tech dropped the fuel tank and found like 15 kilos of coke in the gas tank. The guy was arrested at work by DEA. Charged with drug trafficing He had to prove where he bought the truck. DEA researched it, found the truck was originally taken from a drug trafficer and they had missed all the stash. It required a profuse appology by DEA for his inconvienence etc.. This is what they'd have seen when they released my ass out of jail and appologized!! :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: |

Yeah, or in California, a woman bought a Volkswagen from a police aution and had a similar problem. The mechanic found 84,000$ in the gas tank. The judge said the money belonged to the owner, since police were aware of criminals hiding things in gas tanks since "Easy Rider".
![]() I wish that had happend to me!! Instead I was treated like I killed someone! Of course, in my state the punishment for killing both your parents is less than owning a gram of cocaine! |

We do have some bizarre drug laws. I still don't quite understand how owning drugs is worse than murder. If the gov were to change that law, my state would get a black eye for it. I can see the headline now STATE LESSENS CHARGES FOR DRUG POSESSION! so, I can see why it stays on the books. Can't forget about politicians losing face.
