yeah . . . that WAS one load of bullshit

Quote:
That is where the 9000 rpm comes in on the s2000 comes into play it's designed for one thing and that's to be a roadster.
umm . . . explain how having to rev to 6000 RPMs to gain any real power is beneficial in a drag race?

just because one car revs to a higher limit then another to make power doesnt mean its more designed to be a "roadster"

the definition of a roadster is a two seat convertible sports car

So the arguments for the s2k on day to day driving characteristics has deemed it subordinate to the M roadster ( ie. reving up pretty high just to get going, due to lack of torque in the s2k). The M roadster also seems to be superior in a drag race as well as on a road course.

Now what do you guys think about the ergonomics, value, etc about these two?

um, the s2000 lists for $32000. not $50,000. and the boxter is not $80,000. more like $50,000. check your sources. i do think honda went cheap on the interior, as well as the material for the rag top. the first couple years, the S2000 came in a plastic rear window. only a year ago did honda offer a real glass rear window. but what you get is a highly technologically advanced engine, probably the best 6 speed gearbox on the market, and a fun-to-drive factor that goes through the roof. but at the expense of passenger/cargo room,

wow, what we got here is another "MAG RACING" ...magazine racing post...have any of you driven a S or a M? they are both good open top roadster for the average driver for their daily usage...the S is not much of a dragster... the S was designed for the Track...with a good drive, this car MOB on the track

check out the boys from Cali, laptime

much like the M3 would blow it's rear end all over the track. That car can't handle that much power and would blow up without internal work to the engine
that's funny stuff...

explain how there are so many cars (like the European Car project M3 that's turbo'd with about 400hp) that have stock rears in them?

that haven't blown?
right..

punctuation is your friend... honest... it doesn't bite...

crash77, where are these road and oval tracks at that you've raced your s2k vs. an m roadster?

i find it interesting that b/c someone said something about both types of tracks that you come out and say you ran on both, in the very next post...

hmm...

i'll choose the beemer for the simple fact that at 2k rpm in 4th gear, you can step on it and go places, instead of waiting for the tq to show up at a peaky 7500rpm in the s2k...

not that 175 tq is anything special, when you compare it to 300ish...

i like the s2k, but not compared to the m roadster, though i prefer it's styling...

one more thing...

as i'm nitpicky...

how would internal engine mods help a car from not blowing it's rear end?

riiight... :licker:

so, without any mods to either car that you listed, some friend of yours let you onto the oval and road course?

for top speed runs, no less?

tough one to swallow, considering that there's things like safety checks, and his job to consider.

and i'm pretty sure he would have lost his job, or should have, as neither car in "stock" form would be able to get onto that track unless you paid mega bucks, like TV shows do to get that done...

and i don't think you do...

is there more to your story, or were you waiting for the doubt before you made it up?
