Re: WIP: 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW-13B Renault

Hello,

Thank-you everyone for the kind words.

Well schools really being a pain right now so I am not able build any of my model at this time. I should hopefully get back to the model soon when I finally get some free time.

Here are some pictures of what I have done so far. I really can’t wait to get as good at building these as you guys are .

Well i painted the yellow part of the cowl, it went on very nicely, except for one part. I think i used of used primer.

Thanks,
Zubski

Re: WIP: 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW-13B Renault

I'm building the same kit right now and I've got the same problem as you do with the blue decals on the real wing plates. The microsol was too strong and caused one of the wing plates to wrinkle up badly. I'm debating whether to just live with it or paint it.

Anyways, good luck with your build.

Re: WIP: 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW-13B Renault

Hey,

I would like to take this time to apolliges to me and my model. Some how i figured since its my first F1 kit i could rush through it and make it look like crap, and i got lazy too. Now i had some sence knocked into me, so i took some parts apart sanded them down with 100, 600, then 1500 grit sand paper to get rid of the paint. Now i will go to my local hobby shop and pick up some primer, and do everything over again. I've started with the front wing, i managed to get it apart without to much damage, but it can easiely fix it. I do not know if i will be able to save the engine though Tomorrow i should have some pictures up.

Until next time,

Zubski

Hey, your FW13B knocks mine into the shade already! The induction scoop on the top of the cowling can be a pain... it is wont to split because it gets stressed whenever the rear-cowling is attached/removed from the car. If I were to make this car over again, I would look for as flexible a material to fill in the gaps as possible here. Also, consider painting the wing-mirrors and front-wing end-plates yellow at the same time so that you get a good match with the yellow on the rest of the car.

Keep up the good work,
Bill
