You all made my day, i finally get around to paying my phone bill only to see my thread full of people calling BS on me and then other people arguing on my behalf. I was talking about the time it takes me to travel sixty feet, not 0-60 but I can see how you were confused so no apologies necessary. The WRX that I beat off the line had an inexperienced drive and was running mid to low 15's at the time so call BS if you want but I tell no lies. Your 60' time is a good measure of how well you launched your car, i'm hoping to break into the 2.0's (my closest was a 2.120) pretty soon and i've got an idea of how i'm going to do it. I raced a '99-'00 Civic SI on my way home from the track from about 10mph and suprised myself with the outcome. I beat him though first and when he started to drop back in 2nd i shifted into third... he was still racing! I floored it as he was passing be and started to catch up when i hit around 4 grand and by the time i hit 4th i was a good carlength or two ahead. If i hadn't shifted to 3rd so early he never would've passed me, a friend of mine has an identical car so I want to race him now to see if it was a fluke or not. When i ran a 15.3 it was with no passenger side headlight, 15psi in the tires, no passenger seat, and shifting just before fuel cutoff. When I raced the Civic SI I had my headlight in, 32psi in the tires, a passenger seat occupied by a 165lb passenger (Brandon) and I FUBAR'd my 2nd to 3rd shift. I'm really looking forward to racing my friend with the '99 SI now, bwahaha.

The difference is that you have AWD, i don't, i beat an AWD car off the line and i have FWD. The physics of weight transfer work against FWD cars at the drag strip because when you accelerate weight shifts to the rear lifting the front tires causing them to spin. The fact that I could beat an AWD car off the line (pretty badly) is more impressive than if another AWD car beat and AWD car off the line.
