If you're implying that the silverado isn't mine, that's funny. If you look in the background you can see the 2002 black and yellow xtreme I traded in for it. I'm 27 and make $71,000 a year, plus my wife also works full time. We both have 2004 vehicles, not including my two 2003 quads, my 2002 Honda shadow, and our house. You and Jshort can go back to McDonalds, I think your manager needs you to sweep up. Don't be Jealous, some of us paid attention in school instead of smoking pot and dreaming about 180mph s-10's.

bottom line is, if you run a high enough gear and big enough tires, and decent suspension, etc. 180mph is not impossible to achieve, it's called math......
Actually, it's not called math, it's called aerodynamic physics. You don't just need the the axle ratios and wheel diameter to allow you to hit that speed, you also need enough power to push your vehicle through the atmospehere at that speed. It is hard enough in a sportscar which is designed for it, but when you try it with a truck which is the aerodynamic equivalent of a brick, you hit a wall at about 140mph, and you will need to almost double your HP output for every 10mph you pick up from there, and the equation is a curve so it gets worse as you go faster. Let's say with 300hp your truck will do 150. You would need 500hp to do 160, 750hp to do 170, and almost 1000hp to see 180. Don't believe me then pick up a physics book, but unfortunately it might have big words in it that you might not actually find in the dictionary.

Re: help!!! truck vibrates at 180mph

*yawn* you really don't need to bother me with aerodynamics and physics, i deal with those on a daily basis. As far as all those things you own, good for you, very happy for you...

Look I'm honestly not trying to get into a pissing match either. Just stating the facts. If you do deal with them on a daily basis then why did you make the statement you did when you know it is not true?

This is my old truck, made 295 rear wheel hp on the dyno with the nitrous switched on (approx 330 flywheel), and I couldn't tell you the top speed because I honestly didn't care. I can tell you it did a 12.21 in the 1/4 mile at 117mph though (on slicks, road tires were useless). Fast enough.

Around where I live we don't have a cliff high enough to get an Sdime to 180 before it hits the ground.

Re: help!!! truck vibrates at 180mph

ok here's the thing, a NASCAR engine produces approx. 750 hp and they are able to do 200mph, now i know this is a car and everything, but it kinda throws your theory out the window. I do know about aerodynamics and physics due to the fact that i am an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and i work on airplanes for a living. Although i will admit that 180 mph is probably being exagerated a little, but i know my pick-up will do 144 mph with 3:42 rear end and a whole 4x4 drivetrain to contend with, and that is not exagerating one bit. Anyways all that being said, i too am not here for a pissing match, i do however get pissed when people come here and don't try to help....that is what this forum is for, not to jump on people or call people liars. my point is if anyone in here actually payed any attention you would notice that he didn't ask people to verify his top speed, he was asking if anyone knew of a good suspension system.....and besides who really gives a flying fuck if he is lying? i'm sick of people like "jsort" who just come to places like this to try and start shit, you can tell the people who want to help and the people who don't...have a look at his other posts, they are nothing but sarcasim and bullshit, he is a 17 year old who knocked up someone's mom while playing checkers or something dumb like that. Ok i'm done wasting my time.

that is a bad ass S-10 btw.
