if that wer true then an 84 Escort EXP turbo would be like 146crank and would be a low16/high15sec car

Re: SVT focus VS. 02-03 SI

Well, that just might be the case. I know a stock tempo (98 hp) weighing in at 2500 pounds pulls a 17 second quarter. Why wouldn't a 120 hp (@ wheels) 2200 pound car with a better power band and wider tires pull a better time?

Re: SVT focus VS. 02-03 SI

120hp and 2200lbs would be a low 15sec car, and seeing how the 99-00 S/R is teh fastest stock US Escort produced and it onyl makes mid 15's w/ 118whp i dont think they wheel rated them.

Re: SVT focus VS. 02-03 SI

those si are fast but my 96 contour smoked one and all i have done to my tour is a dropin k&n bone stock in third gear i can do 115 mph in three blocks at 130mph with 3000 more rpm till i have to shift to fourth gear it governs out and i have the little 2.5 V6 with only 170 horse and 189 tq only front wheel drive i have ever seen get a second and third gear scratchwith an automatic the only car that i have raced that gave me a challange was a svt focus and a 00 dodge dakata 4.7 five speed to bad ford didnt put that 2.5 V6 in the focus that would of been a badass car

Well, since these are the last 3 car's I have owned. 00' Black Civic SI, 02' White SI Hatch>> traded for the 03' SVTF I can give an honest opinion of all 3 cars. First off here are my BEST 1/4 mile times with each car. Can't recall the mph on the Honda's but here they are. Bone Stock.
00'SI 15.87
02'SI 16.26
03'SVT 15.78 @ 89 mph

The 00' SI would run pretty closely with the SVT but would by no means walk away from it stock for stock. The 02' was a bit slower than both as you can see. As far as handling, the SVTF chassis is far superior to either of the SI's I have owned. I love Honda's but out of the box handling goes to the SVTF hands down.

The B16A puts out between 140-145 HP at the wheels. I had an 00' SI and have a friend that had a B16 swap in his hatch and he put down around 140 HP at the wheels on the stock engine. The 160 HP that the B16A has is at the Flywheel.
