this is kinda interesting. true cigarettes are expensive due to taxes. i smoke...i pay for it...its my body right? but i see to it that when i smoke, no third parties are affected. once you get hooked to it...its so hard to quit. ive been trying to quit for years now.

i say tax the hell out of it, the more the better. Then take that money to give us some relief on our income taxes. I even say do the same to alcohol. I drink, but it would make it a tax I choose to pay. Not have it taken from me before I even get the money.
that will not happen though. That extra money would go into someone's pocket so they can have some cushy job.

I'm not even going to try and say I know American health care costs/economic influences, etc. But I do know that in Canada, smokes are going for around 10 CAD a pack (and sometimes 14 at the bar). But this tax DOES pay for the smokers health care. When that person comes into the hospital for pulmonary carcinoma, heart disease etc, the taxes he/paid will fund his required care. Someone has to pay for it, why the hell should I pay extra federal/income tax to fund this idiot's habit/care? Smoking is a choice, and in making that choice you are responsible for any consequences of it. Fortunately in Canada health care is free, and no one can/will just rot.

The phucking gov't just raised tobacco taxes AGAIN. I hate Democrats. With a passion.
BTW, as of noon last Friday, I QUIT!!!! They can shove their taxes up their arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take that, you gov't phuckers!!!!!!! The commie b@st@rds won't collect any more tobacco tax from me. Screw it. I'm finished with it. Maybe I'll write the Governor and tell him what I think of him, his taxes, his political party, politicians in general, and why it should be legal to hunt lawyers. Where's the Tum's?! The heartburn is awful!

Go see your doctor and ask for a prescription to ZayBan, or whatever it is. I'm on it, made the cravings a WHOLE lot weaker. At least I haven't killed anybody, yet. Noon today will be FOUR WHOLE DAYS!

Well if you dont like the taxes on cig the hold your breathe cause there is another $1.25 per PACK tax coming down the road. BTW thats nation wide.
