quick question though, maybe this was mentioned if so sorry: what engine came in the 92 -95 civic si's?

also what engine is in the 94+ gsr's? did both of these cars have OBD1 or 2? thanks to who ever can answer.
92-95 Civic Si had the D16Z6 and the GSR's had the B18C1.

OBD levels are as follows:

OBD 0 = pre 92
OBD I = 92-95
OBD II = 96-98
OBD IIb = 99+

The D16Z6 is a SOHC 1.6 liter vtec motor, it is the same engine that came in the EX of the same model years, it also came it the 94-97 Del Sol Si (not the Del Sol Vtec) as well s the 92-95 Civic Si Hatch (and the EX). The B18C1 is a DOHC, 1.8 liter vtec motor. It only came in the 94+ Acura Integra GSR. There was a JDM B18C motor, similer to our B18C1, I think it had a little higher compression, and it had a little more hp. The Integra it was in wasn't called the GSR over there, think it was SiR-II or something like that, though I could be wrong on the JDM name. Also, I responded to your pm.

Yes it is the same as the EX motor, and also the Si Del Sol. The B18C1 is unique to the GSR, but in Europe there is a 1.8 Civic that has a B18C4, which is the same as the B18C1.

Re: Difference between B16A1 and B16A2

Not sure of the exact differences, but I would guess different monitoring emissions on the ECU's part, and different maps that deal with the emissions. Physically the difference is the location of one of the plugs. Here you can see the diff...

OBD IIb
OBD II
OBD I
OBD 0

not much ricochet, there were small upgrades to devices and the ecu's ability to control them, enough of an upgrade to warrant the 'b', but not enough to warrant OBDIII.

Hell if I know, I've never heard of it before this. Never seen it listed either. I am gonna go go to the Honda dealership, play off like I am interested on the 99 Si in their lot, and find out exactly what is what...lol.

(12:04pm) Edit:Well...looks like jcrv answered our question on some of the difference, lol. I wonder why it's not listed anywhere? I only see it listed as OBD-II, not IIB. If I find anything moe out, I'll post it.

Well then, maybe next time you try to spout off that someone is spreading some "misinformation'', you'll make sure you KNOW what you're talking about, and not spread your own brand of "misinformation" around, k?

Or, you could just do a little research, or read around a bit before trying to sharpshoot someone else, it isn't like it was some ultrarare never heard of model that Honda kept under wraps.

So what are you crying about?

You say "stop talking shit", yet lay out a tirade of your own, hmmmm...If you want a good rep, then as said before, don't try to correct people who are right.

So anyway, this is getting pretty boring, and not going anywhere, the question was pretty much answered, so time to move on.

First of all, I'm not getting "butthurt", second, I'm not crying about anything, if it was anyone crying here it would be you seeing as how YOU'RE the one acting like a kid.

Dude, just stop already, you're just fueling the fire, it's useless, we're arguing over nothing. Take it to PM if you want.

Cry me a river. Like I said, your portion of this is done, now go sit in a corner and pout.

Ok, so now you want to start cussing at me, and trying to sound like a victim, good try. No, I am having fun, I already said it was over, it doesn't need any further response from you, yet here you are, blah, blah, blahing all over my screen. If I was trying to make you feel like a turd I would, and you don't need to try to tell me where to take it, if I cared enough to PM you, I would.

Look dude, this thread is sooooo far past your petty bullshit that I barely remember it. Suck it up, and drive on, alright. And as for your bullshit PM trying to say some dumbshit about "going nazi", or whatever the fuck your poor excuse for a delusioned mind came up with, cram it up your ass. I could careless (much less know) what ethnicity your are, you got drop kicked on your ass because you are a tard that made a fairly ludicrious statement, and not only that, you were trying to say that someone who was right was wrong. So take your deluded "poor me" ass home and jump in the shower rinse off the persecution, and come back with a clear head before you actually piss me off.
