not to pick nits, but rev happy doesn't mean better motor. that's all... and the supra revs pretty high anyways, no? what's the stock redline?
I will confirm this but if memory serves me right the 2JZ motor cuts factory around 7,400 rpm where as the RB26DETT is 8,250rpm factory. changing the controds, rod bolts, and a cam kit with better springs and achiving 10,000 rpms isn't uncommon in an RB26 motor.

It takes a fair bit of rpm's to spool two large turbo's or one monster. As a good example an HKS GT35-40 turbo on a 2JZ motor won't see full boost until nearly 5,000 rpms. these turbos are only good for about 600-650 hp with the 1.05 AR exhuast housing. Put a T88-34D or even bigger T51R SPL and full boost wont be until nearly 7,000 rpms with very good tuning. That doesn't leave much room to achieve max power and torque.

well the supra competes in the GT500 class. the hp limit is 500. the 4 cylinder 3SGTE has no problem making 500hp. esp with that kind of money put into it. the reason why toyota decided to ditch the 6 cylinder was becusae it made the car too nose heavy and it hurts handling. so they put a smaller 4 cylinder closer to the middle of the car to make it more 50/50. the Silvias dont' even compete in the same class. they compete in the GT300 class. they are limited to 300 hp. so the SR is more then enough for that class. and the skylines now are using the VG V6's as an experiment and so far, the car is doin better then it did when it had the RB because the weight distribution is also better.
