Wasnt me but my friend, we pulled up in his mustang to a red light. And a guy in a regular Pontiac Firebird pulled up next to us. Reved his engine. My friend was like, alirhgt this guy wants a piece of this.

Light turns green, he floors it, so doe sthe firebird, they were going head to head at 90 mph in a 20 mph zone. The guy starts sliowing down , so we were thinkin we were wnining.

Guess what, he pulled up behind us, and turned on his siren. It was a cop.

He comes up and he was like Never Race, Especially cop whom is a detective and think you will win.

cops suck

Cefalufrank where are you from? I know a detective with a red firebird that has done that to a few people. This was in connecticut.

come on, i dont believe that one

if it's true i would have fought it. no way he could have won.

for one thing in ohio, to pull you over a cop has to have a visible blue light on the top of his cruiser, and after he pulls you over he has to be wearing his cop hat.

there are more cop cars around us popping up that are all black and completely unmarked, but they got to have the blue light on top, if they don't you would be able to fight it in court. also a legality with the hat, if the cop isn't wearing the hat when he comes to give you the ticket you can fight it in court and almost always win --- i dont know the full legalities but i do know there is a law that is closely like that. i think it means the cop is off-duty and can't pull you over.

i got pulled over one time and the cop came running out without his hat, but i didn't fight it because i was racing some older firebird at the time and he only gave me a speeding ticket of 15 above the speed limit. if i would have fought it the judge would have seen me flying by the cruiser going about 70 in a 25 zone

i really dont think i would have won that one

Pfft.. the campus cops here at UMass are worse than massachusetts staties i've gotten 2 bullshit tickets so far, 56 in a 30 on campus (yeah right... this was the night I popped my tire off the rim in my aforementioned post. I was driving my 7 in the snow on a doughnut that was only at 20 lbs) and running a red (it turned yellow for half a second and then turned red, right when i was at the stop line.) and the judges totally go for the cops story. Hell, the first cop didn't even fill the ticket out right, and I was still found guilty.

Around here we have alot of narcotics detectives that are plain clothes officers, and drive un-marked cars, which aren't crown vics. I have also seen about a dozen un-marked crown vics with no lights on top of them only way to tell is to look for their radio antenna's on the back.

I live in NY, and no they can be detectives man, detectives dont use Squad Cars; lol and by the way you aer wrong, a cop DOES not have to have a marked car to pull you over, it is a assignde must when you get your license, and its an implied rule that u accept. That when anyon with any type of siren requests you to pull you over you have to.

You werent Suppose to be racing, you arnt allowed to race. The negatives outweight the postives. Which are none by the way. The judge will simply laugh at you. This case isnt about whether the cop was dressed or not, but you speeding. So technically if your excuse is, Oh but he wasnt dressed. You just pleaded yourself guilty.

BTw, he wasnt a off duty cop, he was a detective, the two are differnt.
(takign law, good to know)
