@ Thesaint111 : I just received my FW24 kit in the mailbox yesterday, and i'm going to try to follow you in your footsteps The only difference is that I'm going to try to detail my model with home-made stuff and without photo-etch parts. I wanna know how realistic I can make the car without aftermarket parts I did the same thing with the Tyrrell and it worked out pretty well...

First I will have to finish my Bentley though (paintjob was finished yesterday) and by the time I start working on the Williams you will probably have advanced enough to let me know where the problems and the tricks are situated

I hope you don't mind me taking advance of your lead, but after all that is the whole idea of this forum, isn't it?

Please do keep up the good work and keep on posting, I'm super-interested in your posts

Yes you can, not only in the williams but in other F1 cars too. Take a look at some real pics and you will clearly see the carbon fibres.

As for the black painting, if you dont use carbon fibre decals, then you need to paint the parts in semi gloss black.

The reason why some teams paint over the carbon fibres is becos they have to do so is in line with the correct colour patterns of the car scheme.

You could see it on this link

Could you give me some critics or something about this model.

The photo is about preassembly model before start coloring..

Thanks.

I try to finish to assemble it, and to prepare all pieces to color... but I've no time this week , because I'm at work, my job takes much time..

So maybe next week

Just picked up a copy of this kit yesterday. Very nice indeed. I'm tempted to start building it along with you all! Strangely it was realy cheap too, only 35 Aus dollars. The latest Tamiya Ferrari F1 kits had been in the 50 dollar range.

Sorry for the long time without updates but it was here in germany nearly 40°C over 3 weeks , it was so f***ing hot .....!!! so i havent done much at the Williams but here comes a small update

i started with the brakes, the discs (not finished only the main color is applied) and the capilers are painted

some suspension arms are covered with cf but not clearcoated at the moment

the inside of the chassis is black (ready for cf )

time for some putty

and a small overview, thats everything what i done (damn i am slow with the kit )

I already painted the seat blue but everything went wrong so i stripped the paint and i will re-do it soon!!

@ Rallyraider 35 Dollars is very cheap i paid 30€ from Japan....

@ nerverstrikes WOW your Williams looks very good !!!

@ dukefleeds yours too

Re: Yes guys......BMW Williams FW-24 *detailed*

Thesaint111, good to see you back at it. I had a heck of a time with the section involving the seat Williams because of the split down the middle, but it eventually while driving me insane worked out. Can't wait to see the rest of yours. That is a nice color on the brakes pads you got there, what exactly is it?
