the idling sound is from the exhaust... that's how all aftermarket exhausts sound. maybe silencers will take care of it... i'll let you know as soon as i get them

yeah the guages on the 97-98 model are different from the older s14 models..the white gauges are standard on the SE model Kouki S14. Also, the pops and drops you hear are actually from the backpressure. From what i understand, the Dual N1s are made to be somewhat universal, between turbo and N/A. So if you were to turbo your KA you will experiance back fire from your engine if you tune it correctly. That means there is some good restriction. Now this is from my understanding..i dont know if its fact or what not. I can look in on it.

The N1 duals did give me a notice in TQ and HP improvement, i dont understand why mynismo is experiancing some loss of power as he claimes he is. Good idea though mynismo for thinking of those silencers, if you are truly losing power..the silencers should maybe help just alittle. But they also serve the purpose of not getting harassed by import hating cops.

I do realize a deeper tone when installing headers in 97-98 with catback n1 duals, but the sound is not the same when the same set up is used in the 92-96 KA24DE, i thought the engine was the same? How is it that 97-98 produces different results than the previous models when modded? thats my question

hey wings,

nah its not coming off the back of my exhaust dude. my new exhuast hardly backfires...

im talking about RATTLING

my loss of hp may have been coming from my electrical fan and radiator. my radiator recently busted, i got the nice new aluminum in and it is rockin. my power is back now i know why i lost a couple races the other day... but the silencers should still help. i cant wait for those to come, its just too loud right now, the cops are on my ass. not pulling over my ass but definately observing it.

also, i dont know if this is unusual, but i can literally put my hand on the exhaust when its running, and it is blowing out cold air
maybe the radiator is working good?

They sound nice, but I think they are too big for a RPS13.

Looks real nice. I see you have the Injen CAI. What do you think of it? How does the extension effect it compared to without?

the intake is useless without the extension. if you dont have the extension you are missing out on a nice power boost. i drove around a few days without it, added it in, and noticed a huge difference.

i still need to add the cai port by drilling a hole in my front spoiler... will come very soon

http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/.../240sxcai.html

edit: i also thought about making the hole about 10" and rectangular in length, and rigging another electrical fan in that area to push the cold air onto the filter. any comments guys (and dayna)?

okie dokie... i rigged my video camera so it's a digital now.

enjoy

http://www.rb25det.com/videos/marks_...ck_Exhaust.wmv - i went up to about 4500 rpm... i can normally rev it to about 6200, just to give you an idea of how loud it can get.

hmm... works for me!

try right clicking on the link and go to Save As, then open it. it's a wmv file. (only plays in Windows Media Player)
