Why make a post if its so vague? Its as if you are trying to leave a lasting impression and you arent even looking for a response to your post.

The forums is about making friends and sharing information with your friends. There are too many people that jump in just demanding information, it should be understood that things DONT get handed out like that. Especially vague questions like the title of this topic.

Furthermore your actions are the antithesis of what the forums and the performance/racing industry is really all about. To add to it much of your information is wrong. Don't bother responding I don't care to hear the trash the will undoubtedly spew out of your mouth. Good day.

ROFL Brian mentioned the important bit at the bottom of Page 2-

LHD 240SX's CANNOT HAVE RB26DETT'S TRANSPLANTED BECAUSE THE STEERING COLUMN IS IN THE WAY

Even the RHD RB26's are hard due to the good ol' fahioned gearbox issues. The RB25 Trannies aren't as good as the RB26 ones- so I just say bin the plans for the RB26 240SX.

This is actually incorrect. There is a 240 with rb26dett with the stock manifolds at Mckinney Motorsports I will soon as well. The rb25det 5spd and rb26dett 5spd are identical untill you get to the tailhoushing/diff.

I don't think Indy people are assholes(quite an ignorant statement of prejudice really) I just can't figure out why everyone on this forum has this chip on there shoulder for no reason. Its way easier to say "hey budy use the search" or just don't reply. But you never know who is asking the question. Lighten up people, we're all human, and I bet many of you asked the same questions at some point in time.

take a gander at that.
u can take a gander at this aswell, since it is proof that the rb26 will fit into the s14..

just thot id post, since this forum has so many a-holes that cant take the time to type a simple answer, but instead have the time to flame everyone who asks a question, may it be blunt or not.

If you wanna go single turbo, you can do it...The swap will cost upwards of 20,000 in the end, and for that, you can nearly have an R32...

yep. Buddha, your pictures didn't really prove much...the RB26 CAN fit into a 240SX, but with the stock turbos and manifold, it cannot because they will not clear the LHD steering column. the S14 you posted has a single turbo conversion, likely with a new manifold, both of which likely clear the column with ease.

Words from my mouth- By all means you can have an RB26 in there- you just need a fat single Turbo in place of two Turbos- was I not clear enough in saying that????? I never said an RB26 wasn't going to fit in the engine bay like one guy was implying.

if it was me i wouldnt even bother with the rb25 theyre arent as strong as rb26's as far as i've seen but your intitled to your opion but i would just get the rb26 (if you have the money to get it and hook it up nice) but for me i would be straight with the sr20det and have extra money left over for it.

Come one guys the original newb poster posted this 11 days ago and hasnt been back, and we all should know that any engine will fit in any car. With enough money you can strap your ass on the RB26 and ride that home. What all of us a-holes are telling you babies, is that the cost it would take for you to cram a rb26 in you could get ahell of alot more power with the rb25 modded up with the extra what $3-4-5 grand??

And here is your simple answer, DO A SEARCH WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS TO DEATH... OR SIMPLY READ THE FAQ!!! We have some info about the rb's in there.

Something to keep in mind. There is a huge difference between the RB26 and RB25 motors.
the biggest is strenght and the head. the RB26 block is considerablly stronger and the factory head will out flow even a decently ported 25T head.

About the only thing they share is the piston diameters which is identical. As a matter of fact RB26DETT pistons drop right in.
There is quite a bit more in differences but I see no need to go into it deeper.

As far as putting one in a left hand drive 240sx if the exhaust manifold is an issue I am sure you can have one made up to keep it twin turbo. I don't see how the steering rack can cause and issue since there is a real SILEIGHTY with that same transplant done using the standard plenum which sticks out even more than the manifold with turbos on it.

There will need to be a fair bit of extra done to the car such as wire looms, ecu, fuel delivery system, and all the pluming for the front mount you will need.

There is also a strength difference in the transmissions. The GTR 4wd trans is stronger than the 25T box and the gear ratios are slightly different. Remember you also would not be putting as much of a load on it because unless your running drag slicks you will be spinning the tyres over quite hard thus lightening the load on the box.

Oh to answer another statement on FR RB26 factory produced. Autec made a car with the RB26DE, yes non-turbo and rear wheel drive. They are rare but there are still some floating around Japan.
