i read in another forum that alota people swap the skyline engine into a sentra se-r. if alota people really do swap in the skyline engine, its gotta b pretty easy right? so would it b easier to drop in the RB engine to a sentra or a 240sx? and wut year sentra would b the best to swap it into?

o yea, the specific engine im talkin about is tha rb26dett. i see a bunch of posts here saying that people r gonna put a rb26 in their 240sx. the 240sx is the same thing as the silvia which uses the sr20det, which is like the sr20de (sentra engine). that means the engine bay should b alike right?

rb26 in ser

First off the engine bay of a 240sx is not the same as a sentra.
The 240sx we have here has a 2.4 liter truck engine in it (the KA20),
so even though a sr20det can be fitted into a 240sx without modification, it doesn't mean it has the same engine bay as a sentra which has a sr20de. To put a rb26dett into a 240sx will cost a fortune, and I believe it will be more to put one into a sentra. the rb26dett is designed to support awd, and the sentra is fwd and the 240 is rwd. It will be more logical to put in a sr20det into a sentra. With the amount of money you put into fitting a rb26 into a sentra, you can build a 500 hp monster sr20det. and why do something that everyone else is doing? be creative.

well when most people swap the b26 into a 240sx, i think they use a rb25 tranny o sumthin like that, which is rwd (i think). im not really positive on all this. so theres alota ways to take care of the fwd prob.

i thought puttin in a rb26 into a sentra would b different. cuz ive seen sum websites about the sr20det into the sentra and it seems common. i figured a rb26 in it would b different, but then again there arnt that many 91 sentras goin around so i guess its alredy sorta unique.

It wouuld be cool if this can be done, your car will have some savage power. but again, why not spend less money to put a sr20det in your sentra. hey it will have less wheel spend

Thumbs up Re: rb26dett swap

They have a kit to the RB25 and RB26 into the 240. It would be way easier do to that. If you want to be more different, put a RB in a Setra. A few people put them in SE-Rs, but not that many. Or you could use a 200sx. The 1997 model is basically a newer SE-R, but they changed the model name to 200sx instead of Sentra.

I hear about SR20DETs being put in Sentras all the time. I was thinking about doing it too, but I think I changed my mind. I'm going all out and putting a RB26DETT into mine. I have a 92 Sentra XE (4 door). I know its going to be hard, but have you ever seen that before? Imagine pulling up next to that and expecting sucky ricer, and then seeing it take off with full RB twin turbo power. I want to paint Bayside Blue too. I get excited just thinking about it.

Whatever you decide to do, go for it. Good luck.

Like every car mentioned, this would require modifications, of course.
