Just to clarify you, I have subscriptions to autoweek, motor trend, car and driver, and road and track and everyone got different numbers for both cars
the evo was tested as low as 4.6 and as high as 5.2
the STi was tested as low as 4.7 and as high as 5.2
so it's really a crapshoot on which car is actually faster.

the mag i read said the wrx is 5.2 and the lancer 5.0.

they said that the 4.7 time of the wrx was done by wrx. the 5.2/5.0 figures was done by a third party.

who knows.........

the wrx wagon can do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. i don't know where your gettin all your stats from. but in motortrend they have been getting that time over and over again. i've never seen any wrx do 0-60 higher then a 5.9 even the wagon. the wagon is just a hair slower then hte sedan. whenever you read a year long log book that they keep of the cars, they still say that they love to kill unsuspecting mustang GT's in there wrx wagon. and even sport compact car, when they tested the WRX wagon, it absolutely destoryed the RSX type S.

I think the times are all over the place because some people are quoting the normal WRX times, and other's are quoting the new STi trim of the WRX times

no its not. i've been a big fan of hte wrx for a while now. and since they first came out in 00. they did 0-60 in 6.0 flat that was what subaru got, then half a year later, motortrend got and road and track and any other mag was able to get a time of 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. that seems to be the standard. and why would the wagon be 1 second faster? the wagon only weights 50 lbs more. how would 50 more lbs with the exact same power be over 1 second slower then the sedan? and the new STi will hit 0-60 anywhere from 4.4 to 4.7 seconds.

well some people got freak cars. some kid in my school has a freak 5.0 lx notch back. he has 8 inch wide weld wheels in the back with 245mm, and 16 inch ponys up front. all he has is a cold air intake, h pipe, flow masters, and 3.77 gears in the back. and his car ran a 13.8 at 99mph.( he has time slips to prove it ) that is ridiculous for such a mildly modded 5.0 considering that i have beaten a few modded 5.0's. but i doubt i can take that mustang from 0-60 since its my weakness. however i'm sure i can hang with him up top if not pass him. so there are all kinds of car.

also note that a moderator named carnuttt has a 92 SE-R that only lost to a modded 5.0 that is even more modded then the one i mentioned by a car. so that is the average that they run since that stock SE-R runs a 15 flat. and 5.0's were 15 second cars from the factory.

Re: 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX

Yeah, 5.0 + good driver = 15 flat stock. And there are so many cheap mods for it, it's ridiculous...
