You're supposed to leave your tires on for the track.

I gotta find out when my local track opens.. I wanna go now and see if I can dip into the 14s a bit.

first things first...your stock wheels are most likely heavier than many aftermarket wheels. For instance my Rota Slipstreams weigh 12.3 pounds each. When lifting a stock wheel compared to the Rota, it's night and day. I made a 1 second difference on my 88 std model going from a 23 lb. 17" ICW Racing wheel to my 15" Rota's that weigh 12.3 lbs. That's something to consider. Secondly, you didn't list your 60 ft. times which will indicate your traction problems. I have a launch technique that I use that is pretty damn grippy. It's called "preload". When you roll to the lights, don't deep stage because you will probably roll a few inches with this technique. What you do is: 1. Prestage 2. Yank the e-brake and hold the button down 3. Rev engine out to desired RPM (I drop from around 4500) 4. Slip clutch out till it starts to engage 5. On last yellow drop e-brake, drop gas, let out clutch, LAUNCH!! This is a great technique for a number of reasons. My #1 reason is durbaility. A transmission will only take so many hard launches and this definitely eases the pain. #2, this just about eliminates shocking the drivetrain which causes wheelspin. Everything is preloaded and there will be no sudden power surges to the clutch, tranny, axles, tires, etc etc. If you don't believe me, don't flame before you try it. I drop my 15" Dunlop Sport SP5000's down to 18psi at the track and with this technique I have NO tire spin. Axle hop is greatly reduced and my 60 ft. are a respectable 2.2. I know this isn't the greatest but I drive home after each and every holeshot. Give it a try.

u missed opening day bud
it opened April 13th (last sunday) my buddy took his VR6 Jetta up there and ran 15.5's @ 100+
just a quick warning, he said once he hit the sticky part of the track he lost alot of traction and spun the tires but on the launches where its not sticky he said he was gettin traction out the wazoo lol
so dont be suprised if u run bad times cuz i'm guessin the track wasnt 100% good, also it wasnt too great of a day,

Either really.. I haven't ran on Cayugas track yet, but I go there to watch quite a bit. I don't run at importsociety meets though because its $50, I just go when its a Friday night for street legals. St.Thomas is like a 30 minute drive for me, so I just go up there a lot on Fridays.
