haha, you're jokin right??
the roads here are a 100 times better.... i guess it depends on the country but almost every place i've been the roads weren't nearly as good as the ones here

in lots of big cities they don't even have paved roads they're set with stone, i don't know what it's called.. but not paved. That's looks a bit nicer but it's not good to drive a Ferrari on them

I have just heard that most of the roads there are better than they are here (especially the autobahn, but that goes without saying )

The roads in Europe ARE better than Canadian and US roads, but you should still consider yourself lucky that you don't have to drive on NZ's volcano chipped roads, one time I got up to 200 kph, but instantly slowed down due to the unbearable tyre squeal

North Americas roads are glass smooth compared to most in Europe.

America has the best natural scenery and modern cities, Europe is good if you like old buildings. Although I find American history far more interesting than European. So much happened in America over the past 200 years (especially the past 100).
America has so much variation. You have the south with beautiful colonial houses, and cities like New Orleans with rich musical history. Then there are the nothern cities with buildings easily as grand as those in Europe - often more so.

Then there are the mountain ranges. Europe has nice mountains but they don't really vary in style. America has so many distinctive ranges such as the San Juan range in CO and the Sierras in CA and NV.
Nothing compares to the autumn colours that you see in New England and West Virginia.

Then you have the most spectacular views in the world at places such as Yosemite and the Grand Canyon.
There are a huge variety of canyons, all distinct from the others. Bryce, Paria, Zion, etc.
Oh and I always forget Monument Valley.

America has culture. Its called western culture. Jazz, Blues, rock, funk, house, pretty much every form of modern music is American. America influences the way the civilized world dresses, the films we watch. Its not all McDonalds and cocacola.

Be happy, you live in the best country in the world.

I guess I'll have to go to Europe to find out for sure.

But this kinda re-inforces the idea that you love what you cant/dont have.

its funny, all these damm refugees trying to get in and little me crying to get out the damm place. i will, my time will come. gonna get me a place on the beach in the south west of oz, inbetween melbourne and sydney so i got the best of both but not actually in the cities. the sun, the beach, the waves, the babes, the v8's. gonna get me a black 1973 ford falcon xb and do it up like mad max, and i'll have a 1969 camaro z28 pro street car, oh, and i'll take a ford escort rs turbo series 1 when i go as well!

in the next couple of years i will be saving up to take a working holiday in oz so i can experience a year there, meet people, do some work, (i'm a panelbeater) see if i can really picture myself there.

it's not always grey and raining. we've had some blinding weather in september, october and this month. not bad for autumm coming to winter. i've been able to go about in a t shirt and feel warm. (apart from today, rain!)

must get round to respraying my car!

Yeah, I know how you feel. I see people here suggesting moving to the States, but I can't wait to get out myself! I guess the grass is always greener, eh? Australia doesn't seem a bad place--but so did Britain. I wouldn't mind Canada either. I guess it's the politics that ruins it, huh, like the US's current political climate reeks (sic) of McCarthyism.

OT: Btw, is oz slang for Australia? Aussies and Kiwis--I swear, I'm getting an education on the colloquial English down there.
