Or ... when you two grow up you'll be able to tell when someone is being blatantly overly opinionated, they probably aren't being all that serious. I wasn't aware that there would such sensitive hearts among car people. That growing up thing you were talking about will help you with sarcasm and a sense of humor too, which you'll need if you ever deal with me again. We're talking about wheels, not the end of the world, so try not to get your feelings hurt over this sort of thing too often.
