kappa's are power hungry ......... go with a class D amp, cuz you're gonna need like 1000 watts or more to get them pounding.

sorry, I meant 1000 total for the 2 ..........
lets see, JBL makes the 1200.1 ........ 1400+ watts DEI makes a few models and I know there are others - maybe this would be a sticky topic, one for subs nd one for amps, so you you guys would see your choices. |

it really depends on what kind of music you listen to. If the bass is heavy, electronically made tones - you might want to be careful about overpowering it. The reason is because the average power in that type of music is much higher.

then you should think about getting maybe a 600 or 700max rms amp for the pair. since your music will push them to the max, you might want to underpower them. im sure infinity makes high quality subs, but its better to be safe. try the jbl 600.1bp, that puts out 600wrms@2ohms.

depends what you want. for the tightest more accurate bass, a sealed box is better. bandpass' are for specifically for loudness. and in the middle are ported boxes, which i prefer. i had a sealed, but gave it to a friend and got a ported box. if you decide on getting a ported box, find one with rectangular ports, not the normal circular... it creates less air turbulence. if i stand and listen, i cant even hear any, all i hear and feel is bass.
heres what i mean by getting a rectangular port

there was something going on at the downtown convention center, it was kinda like a fancy fleemarket. but its just a box, so i wasnt too worried about buying it from them. got it for $40
