I am not complaining . . .

Please, don't misunderstand my previous comment. I am not complaining, 400bhp would be very very nice. I am a Nissan man at heart, but the new GTR or whatever maybe called will really have to reach a new level to compete with the competition as well as my wallet. I do not discriminate between imports or domestics, we are a Corvette family for example. The new GTR will have to compete with the ZO6 in standard form for me to be really intereted. Of course I am referring to stock numbers with no aftermarket tuning.

Well, I get them impression the VQ series engine in the Skyline will have completely forged internals, so changing the stroke to make it 3.3 liters doesn't make it a different engine.

Anyhow, it's got half a liter of displacement over the RB26, so that gives it a little more room to work with. Also, the V6 is technically a superior design to the I6, being more compact, notable much shorter, allowing better polar moment of inertia, as well as weight distribution.

All I got to say is holy crap, and also I have been hearing everywher it WILL be sold in the U.S., but at a lofty price. I wonder if you will have to order them or if they will be sold in enough numbers to buy one from a dealership. Maybe a situation similar to the ZO6 (Corvette)

Any way isn't the VQ33 the previous engine used in the Maxima and Pathfinder? If so than it is really not new is it???
Making a VQ33 isn't a very big deal. I'll explain: There was the original VQ30DE to start with, making its debut in the 1995 Maxima. Before that, it had been developed for normally aspirated use in a German touring series.
For the 2001 Pathfinder, the VQ30 was stroked by .3L and then bored by.2L(might be the opposite). Voila! You get the VQ35. To get a VQ33, all you do is change either the bore of the stroke when the block is machined. You aren't developing a completely new engine. Maxima owners with VQ30s are starting to experiment with this too, hoping to use the VQ35's crank.

Edit: I almost forgot. It makes sense for the new GT-R to be called the R35, keeping the traditional chassis designation. If you look at the new 350Z/Fairlady Z, you'll notice that even though they are based on the new platform, they are still called the Z33, which was the next step up from the Z32 300ZX.

And I'm sure it will, all of the previous GTRs R32-34 compete, and with say 90 extra horses, reduced (or for all practical purposes eliminated?) turbo lag, the next generation of AWD, and possibly a more torquey engine? I'm sure it will be more then competitive. Perhaps even close to Viper land

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know why some poeple still want the old RB26 engine which don't get me wrong was an awesome angine but the new VQ35 is completelly superior.

I always thought that the consensus was that i6 was better than v, its only downfall being a long size. 2 less camshafts, the balancing in only two directions really, and a lot smoother. Correct me if I'm wrong.

.

As much as people like it in America, why don't they sell it here? I would think there would be a market for it, unless they are forced to bring the price up to like 90,000. So many people drool over it, I must be missing a complication here.

Paying attention to exactly what you just said, the "Skyline" is the G35 which we already have. The GTR will be a worldwide car when it's introduced which means you will see it here. It's not a rumor anymore it will happen.
