If you want a quality color, dye the vinyl. I don't have a pic of my dash yet, but i dye'd it and it looks exactly as good as the red vinyl on my door in this pic. You won't have the glossy look, but you have to weigh what you want. A quality looking interior, or a glossy one that will reflect on your windshield and eventually crack and fade. My dye job is new, but i'm POSITIVE it won't crack because its not paint on top of vinyl but actually recolored the vinyl itself, and i'm not sure about fading, but i think it'll hold up pretty well. Here's my door:

hey that's a really nice job, how much have you spent on your door panels and all to make them look like that?

just the cost of materials. maybe 5 bucks for the cloth over the armrest part, and then 30 or so bucks for the dye+ shipping cause i bought the stuff online. I did all the work myself.

That's really sweet man, I'm impressed. So you actually DYED those parts, you didn't just spraypaint them? How did you do that and where did you get the parts and how long/hard was it to do and where'd you order the dye from?

lol that's alot of questions, sorry about that. Thanks for the info though.

Yeah, i dyed the upper red part, and for the white part, i used the dye, but i put down a couple coats of primer first, essentially turning the dye into spray paint, cause the dye can't sink into hard plastic. I did it by taking the door panels off, taping the parts off that i wanted to dye/paint, and then went at it. It really wasn't that hard to do. I had never done this b4 though, so it took me a while just to get over my initial fear of fucking up my door panels, but i figured they were replaceable, so i'd test on them first. I used stuff called g2 interior dye from g2usa.com. you can't buy directly from them, but they have links to places to buy it from. I bought it from a link on their website called machvmotorsports. They specialize in dsm's (eclipse's, talons, etc.), but they carry the dye, and their customer service and shipping are excellent. I've had to buy more dye from them on many occasions, and they've always come through.

whatever you do don't spray paint it. my friend did and i swapped him my interior pieces cause he was selling his car and im sick of it. he had painted it silver/white but overtime it gets scratched and looks like shit...im going to redo it all but paint it a dark color except for the white vents. just remember use patience and don't rush

oh and look for SEM Vinyl Dye. i heard its the best stuff to use painting plastic interior pieces(ordering it myself)
