man, i couldnt put a body kit on my car if i wanted to. things got so much damn torque, the second i took off it would tear the bumper off. plus i dont think they make body kits for an 85. too square and boxy.

well, i wouldnt really say PERFORMANCE parts...but the parts arent stock. its got a cone shaped air intake filter, exhaust headers, 2 1/2" diameter tailpipe, cat converter cut off, sport transmission. but with all those cool addons, i have a list of things that arent working right. alternators f-ed up, cracked block (put 15k miles on cracked block...weird) and several interior and exterior blemishes. i got so much air drag i cant get above 120. not cool

If its the same bodystyle as the 88 I dont see why not. But i promise I will post the pictures when I take them! But i'll warn you. You might wanna be prepared to spend some money. I'm not quit sure how much its costing to just get the bodykit on. but everything is 5,000$'S But then again the paint job is a pearl color. But yea I will give you that info when I get the bill haha. I'll keep everyone updated.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

that is a big ass load of bullshit. unless your not stock parts raised the CR to 19:1, your car has no more than 145 tq with all the mods you did, it would take about oh 1200 ft lbs of torque to rip off a body kit, and the only way it would happen is if the chassis was weakened to the point where after the first run, the car is twisted so that it will ride on 3 wheels with about a foot of air under the 4th tire.

you are a liar. plain and simple. the only fast celicas from the 80's were the alltracs, and they werent that fast, but compaired to the 17+ seconds your car got from the factory, it was fast. oh and if you had the power to rip off a body kit just by launching your car, you would be able to easily pass 120 despite the shape of your car.

antyoo, you know nothing. plain and simple. mommy bought your car for you so you pretend to be a car god. if you could SEE my car take off, you would understand. being rwd, it torques the rear end to the point where my muffler almost touches the ground. and before you call someone a liar, you should probably know what youre talking about.

A 22RE comes from the factory with 116 horsepower @ 4800 rpm and 140 lb/ft of torque @ 2900 rpm. With your mods (different air filter, header, 2.5" exhaust) you would be lucky to have 130hp and your torque is probably the same as stock since 2.25 is optimal for these cars and the 2.5" reduces low and mid range exhaust scavenging so you will not see the advantage of the larger exhaust until you get a better cam and port the head. Also I do not know what the hell you mean by a sport transmission. Too much Gran Turismo would be my guess. Unless you consider an upgraded clutch, lightened flywheel and a short shifter a sport transmission because that is all you can do to the W58 trans that came in these cars. If your muffler is almost hitting the ground on your launch either your rear springs and shocks are in dire need of replacement or a muffler hanger rusted off and the muffler is hanging down already. My car with its swapped in 1G-GTE (a 2.0 inline six, DOHC, twin turbo out of a Jap-spec MkIII Supra incase you didn't know) has more power than your 22R will ever have and I would never have a clearance problem with an aftermarket body kit. And I also don't know how you could have so much air drag you can't reach speeds above 120mph. When my engine was stock I could get it to 127mph verified by my friends GPS. Now unless you have 'riced' out your car with two or three spoilers dialed in for maximum downforce you should be able to reach the same speeds as me. Well since your mods aren't matched will with the powerband of the 22RE and the block is cracked my guess would be you lack the power to reach those speeds and are passing it off as 'air drag' so you don't look as bad when you try to show off for your friends. And Anytoo is right, these cars stock are very slow but do have a lot of potential being that they were the last of the RWD Celica's. My car for instance ran the quarter in mid 17's on its best day stock. Then it ran low 14's with forged pistons 20R head, mild cam, dual 45mm Weber DCOE carbs, headers 2.25" exhaust, and many other modifications. Then I ran a 125 shot of nitrous and got into the high 12's. Decided I wanted a turbo and swapped in a 1G-GTE that I bought from Toysport. I ran high 13's with that when it was stock. Then with a few minor mods (boost controller, alcohol injection, 3" exhaust, better intake, and slightly larger injectors) I was running deep into the twelves. I am currently on my way to the 11's. The only bad thing about this engine is aftermarket parts are really hard to get. Almost all of my mods are fabricated or universal and work on any turbo engine but to get anything specific for this engine (cams, forged pistons, stronger valve springs, etc.) I have to talk to performance companies based in Japan and Australia. Most of them don't ship to the U.S. but I recently found a company in Australia that will work with me. I rarely visit these boards as there is few 3rd gen Celica people here and the ones who are here think these cars are way better than they are. No offense to those who do know what they are talking about. Anyway I was just browsing through and saw how ignorant sk8nbroslofski was and decided to educate him a little. Feel free to reply with how I know nothing and my mother must have bought me my car, whatever boosts your ego. But if you would like to learn something useful feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you whenever I decide to check this site out again.

hey I hope you are not referring to me as well, cause I havn't said a thing about your car. Because I know nothing about perfomance or anything like that. Besides I keep my bad opinions to my self if I had something bad to say.
