Regarding the law at debate, being the idea that you run what you brung, I've made my decision. I spent some free time contimplating the idea. One of the aspects not brought in but maybe should have been was the idea of catostrophic failure on a car that otherwise as been running fine.

I've been on and off following the Visionboy IS300 for a good period of time. The build up of his IS was, imh, fairly interesting and awesome, to say the least. While I'm not sure what he averaged as, I remeber having videos as much as two years old with his heavily modified 2JZ working over some seriously fast cars. Then, randomly, he had his CF. While sitting in line to run a 1/4 at a dragstrip, his motor pretty much blew (we think a massive amount of back boost, but at this point, it has been tossed up to gremlins, see thread here).

So, the question comes to ask, what about those random one in a thousand gremlins that just happen on a car that has otherwise run perfectly? While I agree if your car is not running well and you race and loose, it is your fault, but, as we see, there are times where a car runs just fine, and maybe one little thing goes wrong. Another example, in one of his past races, Dado (the turbo M3 from the Mischief vids) had to pull out after hitting a piece of gravel moving at high speeds, destroying his FMIC. However, I then started to think about the risks taken in racing. When you build up your car for massive power, you generally take risks of little things going wrong here and there. Its part of the game.

So, in conclusion to my rant, regarding the concept

My first law would be, RUN WATCHA BRUNG!!!!! Don't hunt for reasons for someone to take off parts on their car, or reduce the amount of boost (i.e. telling them to leave their boost at 13psi instead of 20, having them take out their nitrous).

Also, no excuses. You lose and it's your own damn fault. Don't hunt for excuses (i.e. your car needs a tune up, clutch is slipping when you have a new clutch in it, carpet got stuck underneath gas pedal, windows were open, had my 100lbs. girlfriend with me, etc...).

Ha.. except my old Z had a 4" or 4.5" exhaust tip and old had a 2.0L engine. But it needed the 3" exhaust flow!

about the exhaust tip, mine is going to be larger than the liters of the engine, as i'll need it come summer time. lets just say im tired of the stock sentra, and its getting breathing mods for starters. should open up about 15+ whp( CAI, Header, 2.5 Mandrel custom)


wow, so much activity for 1 day. shows what i've missed in the last 23 hours.

I agree on the whole run what ya brung. you running slicks, the the next guy shouldn't have to say put on street tires. just give each other what kind of lead you want and run. no BS. that drives me nutz.

also, inspect each others cars before you run. i mean seriously, if you want to race, and your car isnt reliable at all, then you might as well stayed at home.

i would have to agree on jayson with the whole congrads after each race, reguardless of who won. it keeps road rage away and lets each other know good run, reguardless if it was or wasn't. i think its more of a respect thing(not to be taking into street cred and crap like F&F). i mean, if i just lost to a car, a thumbs up or good run would make me feel better, apposed to just rubbing it into someones face. i dont think showboating is acceptable, as anyone these days have guns to shoot anyone for stupid things.

i also think we should all agree on some sort of basic checklist before racing period like what mushman has posted on the previous page. you can add in details yourself, but would be a great idea.

Dont make excusses, race safe and even though I do enjoy talking smack and rubbing my victories in others faces it would be nice to get a thumbs up if I ever lost......hard for me to be nice and all but....

1.Unless you see Nate Pritchett or Rich Christensen onhand, don't act like a billy badass and call someone out, only to "negotiate" for lengths or the hit when they arrive. You was big enough to step into big boy pants, now you have to wear them.

2.Don't bitch or complain if you see a rollcage in your opponents car. A rollcage does not A. Make the car go faster in any way
B. Makes his car safer
C. Adds weight to the car which is an advantage to you
3. Don't "race" your buddies car(by this I mean, tell an opponent I know a guy with so and so) when talking shit because you don't own a car of your own that is worth a damn. Racing your buddies car is as cool as jacking off while taking a dump

4. If you happen to drive a 15-18 second car, don't go around snorting your apc pipe at every muscle car of any type. You can't win, and you are simply annoying the guy that has a legit street car. Also just because you passed a musclecar from behind at 110mph in a 35mph speed zone, when the other guy is doing the speed limit, you do not get the right to throw on your hazard lights and go home to brag about your victory on RicerRaceForums.

Just a few off the top of my head based on recent experiences.

we need to keep a list of things that are majority vote and also make seperate threads for seperate issue's.

maybe make a sticky for the rules we come up with

^ A sticky thread is what I had in mind too. I think otherwise it will get to disorganized with all sorts of threads and random posts. Maybe Matt or Musashi should start a thread and keep there first post as the official list of rules and keep editing it as we go on.

I would like to add one. This is one that I am sick of and that is bullshit. If you like to talk about cars that's great but there is no need to lie about crap. I've heard a lot of bullshit in my time but a few days ago I got fed some that I had trouble holding back. This guy works with me and I've told you about his 1.8t Golf. He claims that he has driven 160MPH in that car on the way back from Vegas. Fine I know that's BS, but whatever. Well, he tells me that he was out there with someone that didn't believe him so he took this guy out to prove it. He said it took no time to get to 150 but then it took forever to get to 160. Must be that special autobahn gearing. Anyhow, he says that they end up wrapping the speedometer back around. He then said he bets they were doing 200MPH!!!

Seriously, how can anyone with more than 5th grade education believe that. He claims he has 217WHP in a car that weighs 3,700 pounds. You do the math, he wouldn't be able to break 140MPH. Now this guy knows I know more about cars than he does so why did he think I would believe that? I sure hope he doesn't.
