Nice....very nice...........rofl

I have gathered some more pics of the van and ALL the parts I have for it....

BTW...I am not the model's first owner...the original owner was mentaly challenged.......
.....and that's not a hole in the front of the body, that's black paint.(supposedly he tried to make a "LeBra"...which were installed on the original 1:1 vehicles)

ps: If someone has or knows where to find some windows for this kit and would like to donate them, that would be greatly appreciated....(the ones I have are broken, cracked or missing)

Is that smoke I can smell? Is something burning around here?

I'm a great believer in "alternative WIPs" and this could be an interesting resto project if you pull it of well, but I wonder if you are not over complicating things (even by my standards ) with your "build by popular vote" idea?

Why don't you show us what YOU want to do with it?

Just my ...

given the generally rough condition of the kit you're starting with, i say make it a beater, something you'd see an old hippie driving. tattered seats, curb-rashed wheels, faded paint with some primer spots from bad repairs, exhaust held on with bailing wire, that sort of thing.

ahh, fellas, it's not that bad, a little dunk in dot 3, and some sanding and it'll be a rather workable kit.

first off, since the windows are all flat, you can just use any clear plastic cut to shape and glued in place with white glue.

I see it....so cal/cleaned.

candy apple red, dropped, chrome hoops and caps on flat black steelies, ditch the cabinetry in favor of a finely appoulstered comfy leather bench in the back, with a pair of captain's chairs in matching fabric for the center, and a pair for the front as well. get rid of the camper scheme, get rid of the handles, clean up the trim, shave the water fill hole. when it's done get a couple of scale coolers, and beer cans and what not and make it a so-cal tailgate party!

I got a better idea. Why not PAINT it with castrol super clean??
DOT3 as primer,CSC as paint, and Isoprophyl Alcohol as Clear coat!
That would be awesome. And i agree with willmo's idea!!!

I would definatly not "pimp" it.
Why not make it a real hippy bus? Some of the kitchenry can stay in, give it a really "groovy" paintjob, somthing like this:

http://img66.echo.cx/img66/3600/hippyback3ng.jpg

as long as it has psychedelic colours and shapes...
Some dents and scrapes in the body...

You could make a "camping" diorama, with some hippy's outside, smoking wheet and playing a guitar...

here's a little paint shop editing on that van, I bet I could have found a real one alot easier, but I didn't want to look! haha! I know it's orange, but I can't figure out how to do candy colors in a short half hearted photo chop.

Re: Welcome to the first ever "Forum Thread Build-Up" *** Join In and Help...

i would shave the bumpers and put a stinger exhaust on it. ill see if i can get a coupe pics of my buddies 71 VW Bus. i know its a different body, but i like how his is set up. oh and its the 2nd fastest naturally aspirated VW Bus is california. and its street legal.

i wouldnt go with very big rims, but i think getting rid of the cabinets and putting in a TV and a sofa would be awesome. and for paint... something like orange and cream, or baby blue and white. those are the best colors for a Vw Bus.

Go ahead with the drawing.....I could use it to help me in the face to face construction of this....something I can use as good references in my workshop...

THANKS,....

Well...thereis also the Isoprophyl Alcohol (99% or 91% works best) and Brake fluid (DOT2)
