Stealing lazy bitches should rot in hell. I had my $200 tool set, cd player and some cds jacked in BROAD DAY LIGHT at SCHOOL. Busted the window into a billion pieces. Stupid fucking school didn't do shit about it and sure enough 5 other cars got broken into over the next month and the school STILL didn't do anything about it. To this day there isn't any extra security But at least this year I got a high visiblity parking spot next to the busy road so I don't think anybody will mess with it.

The funny thing is, the only cds they stole were my copied ones There were 2 brand new cds on the seat and the stupid fawkers left them and took all my shitty copied ones. Thank god for stupid thieves

Probably the best thing to do is put every piece of anti theft equipment you can get on your car. The point is to make your car look like a hard target. That way they'll hopefully move on to an easier car. But no alarm or any anti-theft device will stop people from stealing if they want it bad enough. You can at least make your car look un-attractive to a potential thief.

alarms do work

If you were breaking into a car and the car alarm went of your gonna look suspicious, when a car alarm goes off in a parking lot no one really pays attention but if you were breaking in you wouldnt really want to mess with their car. if my alarm was going off i would get my keys and go to turn it off and if someone was breaking in i would chase them down

Has anybody ever successfully pulled off a midnight watch... set a car as bait and watch for thieves?

Some of you may remember my post and how angry I was. Alot of us have been there. In NY, my parents had it BAD with breaking into their brand new cavalier. WITH alarm! over there they can sit in the car ripping EVERYTHING out while the alarm is still going off. They DONT CARE!. They had their dash TORN and ripped off to shit just to steal the computer (ECU). Ever since I got my nice sensitive alarm for my civic, no ones messed with it

Here is my post (thread)

I had to laugh when I read this because it hits so close to home.

I was robbed 5 times last year and I think I'm being set-up for a robbery as I write this. Why do I say that? Well Friday I came home from work and my front door was standing wide open, however nothing in the house was touched. I panicked and went immediately to the garage to check on the much prized Accord and all was well and untouched. Then today as I went home for lunch, I have a privacy fence and found both gate doors wide open, with the lock still attached. On of the gate door has a metal rod that has to be manually lifted out of a hole in the concrete and then opened. As I walked around to my back yard, I found my shed wide open, and the lock missing. It houses 2 of my 3 motorcycles.

Based on those happenings, and I will dispute any acts of coincidence, I think someone is staking a robbery.

I will just have to come to the house at random hours during the day to ensure immediate responsiveness.

But when I saw your post I had to laugh, last year I had finally had it with being robbed. I'm in the 82d Airborne Division, so naturally serving in the Army, when it comes to security and perimeter defense, I can hold it down, I dressed in black and lay upon the roof of my house and waited for their Asses. Unfortunately during my late visits to the chimney side, no perpetrators ever posed their existence on my property, so no opportunity to use excessive force.

While laying up there late at night, having plenty of time to let devious thoughts run ramped in my mind, I came up with a rather demented but rather humorous thought.

In the Army we have what is called 550 cord, which is basically a woven nylon cord that has a tinsel strength of 550 pounds of load per foot. Something like that, nothing really special, actually something you can buy at your local military surplus store. Anyways it dark green in color, hence the camouflage effect.

I thought of putting a bicycle in the front yard and tying some cord to the bottom of the seat post, and then off to the side leaving about 75 to a 100 feet of slack coiled up and then the end tied to a stake or the trailer hitch of my SUV, and of course perching myself up on the roof, just waiting and waiting until that straggler comes walking down my street and sees an unsecured bike at the edge of the property, ultimately easiest of temptation for him to pull off a quick steal and make a buck or two at the pawn shop the morning after. Once he or she gets on the bike and starts to peddle, I leap off of the roof of the house screaming and hollering, scaring the shit out him, chances are he will not get off the bike and run, he will panic and peddle faster in attempt to make a clean getaway, and then BAM!! The slack on the 550 cord runs out, and with his accelerated momentum, he will shoot off of the front of the bike quicker than the worst-case endo, so quick he may never ever figure out what happened. Chances are he will never see the cord, because its dark in color and at nighttime, one who knows its there has one hell of a time focusing to see it. He will be completely dumfounded. Then I can either choose to let him go with the unsolved mystery or a guilty complex of karma haunting him for the rest of his, or I can tumble his ass, using excessive force and leave him scarred for life, and with teh unsolved mystery and persistant thoughts of karma.

Anyway that was one of my less brutal ideas that would be used in attempts to discourage theft on my property.

Excuse me while I go perch back up on my roof... Peace!

Thanks for listening!

That's pretty cool you should do the bike cord thing. Why would thieves open your doors up and not take anything?

looks like you'll be sportin' a hefty bag for a window!

that sucks. I usually leave my civic unlocked, I have a stock stereo with only 2 speakers, no one looks twice at it.

Good luck with it man

How many times do I have to say this????

AK-74 + subsonic saboted ballpoints + homemade sound suppressor +pager alarm
= quiet, "balistic-free" security for about $1,000.

Modified M82A3 + excellent optics + SLAP-T + homemade sound suppressor = "balistic-free" kill from a mile away for about $15,000 (lol I know that's more than your car is worth but it's nice to take a thief head apart from a mile away....)

I know most Canadians are willing victims but wtf is the matter with all you Americans? Go play some russian roulette with drug dealers in the neighbouhood to find out which deadbeat had more money than usual (pro's don't break stuff and tend to take the whole car) then away you go. Unless you got off your lazy arse when the alarm went off.

I have never been broken into, but the way I think is that if someone breaks into my car, that thing is staying there. I put in two relay's that have to be energized at all times for the car to run, one for the starter and another for the fuel pump. This way they can hot wire the starter, but once it is started it will die because the second relay will disengage the fuel pump.....suckers. I was thinking of adding a fire suppression in the car, so if the alarm goes off, it will reset in 5 seconds. If there is still detection, a fire extinguisher would fill the interior of the car. There is an agent I use at work called Argonite. It is set at about 3000psi (yes that is 3000psi!!) and literally sucks the oxygen out of the air, no air = no fire = no breathing. Problem is that windows would break and metal would bend. hehe
