Only if it is a major mod like forced induction, and even some insurance companies don't care about that. I would tell them though so that they can't say they didn't know about it and decide not to cover you.

Speaking of whic, his insurace made an offer on my car yesterday. They offered me $1,050 dollars. That isn't even the low book on my car. The low book is close to $2,000 and the high book is $3,900. After all the money I have invested in this car I am looking at getting about $7,000 with the new head, centerforce clutch, rims, new tires, and my damn Iridium spark plugs that I wanted to get out. Assholes, I'm not put up with this shit.

Screw them, take them to court for that crap... Tell the judge all the money you put into it, and make those people pay

Holy crap! That is pretty sweet. I am unfortunately still fighting with his insurance to get what my car is worth. They are only offering my $2,000. I recently had it appraised at between $5,000 and $7,000. I am just waiting for that to come in the mail. I am going to show it to his insurance and if they give me what I want then well call it even. If they don't then we are off to court and chances are I will win with all the information I have. Too bad I can't get another GTC out of the deal, ah well, as my signature says, I will have another, oh yes I will.

Hey,

i know this post is coming late considering when the thread was posted, but i just now saw it and have information for you.

Take that appraisal slip and highlight the quoted price of the vehicle. When you do that, and show it to them, they'll jump and instantly begin offering you a better settlement.

This is because of two things.

First, you can ask for the top price of the appraisal in court, and you'll get it. Second, you can enter a second claim for the statutory maximum in your state for damages due to this happening, which means you can squeeze anywhere from 3 to 5 grand more from them for pain and suffering, lost wages, inconvenience, etc.

Second, if the court judge doesn't award you those damages there, you can go to small claims court and collect the damages pay there.

I hope this comes in time for you Polygon, and if you have any questions post something in one of MY threads where i'll see it sooner.

Good luck to you man. :sun:

Yeah student, I have faxed that appraisal to them and they said they want to offer me what the car is worth but they question the information I have given them, so I am going to give them the number I called at Chrysler to get my information and they can call them and find out for themselves. If they don't I know we can take them to court and with all the info we have they wouldn't stand a chance.

As for the tach, its not stuck, the engine was running at 4000RPM.

j/k

Hehe, glad it's been of help to you man.

I've been looking around for prices on getting another GTC...not many around but those that are are selling for cheap here in Canada...saw one the other day in the bargain finder for 1500 Canadian...good shape too from what i could see.

It's a thought...you may end up having to do a shit-load more to the car to get it to where yours was, but it's a good starting point.

Well, if you can find a hardtop with a manual, that is what I am looking for, only problem is getting out there to look at it and then get it home.

That one WAS a hardtop manual...lost the paper though.

I'll keep checkin the bargain finder online, and if i find something i'll post it.

http://www.bargainfinder.com/

That's where to go if you want to check out cars...it's popular in the states as well as here, and you can get as specific as your particular city too.

Damn

I'm glad to hear you're ok Poly, and my condolences on your loss. I have alot of respect for folks driving/modding "non-standard" cars. I hope you find another one to replace it, and stay safe bro.
