using much the same technique as before, I've opened up the left engine vent that feeds the intercooler. The vent on the right is not open on the actual car, so it stays closed. It's quite difficult to sand the ends of the openings from the back, so a length of thread is inserted and the ends are "flossed" until the desired length is reached. Clean up is again by strips of sandpaper. This was really a bitch to do... really tedious work. I'm glad only the left vent need be done.

Addendum: for us here who were sceptical about the 'flossing' method of opening up doors etc... it really works, and you get a really clean, fine cut ... highly recommended, but have lots of thread handy.

Hi Daryl,

Your 'flossing' kind of things are what makes the difference between a good model and an average one! Very well done.

idea: I would tone down the birght aluminium/silver colour on the engine a bit with some black/brownish thinned colour in the corners etc. No engine looks so clean, once it has run Wiring and hoses are execellente!

I wasn't to sure about the aw11 thing, but the MR2 makes sense

Certainly did, Fly It's the small details like the hose fasteners that really bring a model to life.

Huudo: I'm kinda going for the show-car engine look. That's why all the tubing is in silver and the engine is colour coded.
