i dont think there can really be any competition for the GT40, the original at least. but if its a replica, then im not sure. RX7 or the GT40, but probably the Ford.

Well, I voted RX-7 before really thinking about anything at all. But I would say good choice with the GT-40 its much more rare and is a helluva car IMO.

i choose the rx-7 simpily becasue each person has a style that they project. like if people see a 240sx they think hey its TAT. each car is like the drivers personality. and non of the other cars goes with me. they are beautiful and awesome cars in their own respect, but i just can't picture myself driving one. maybe except for the GT40 heheh but i'm sure you can understand what i'm tryin to say. just like how it would be weird for you guys to be in a hooked up civic or something. yes i know civics suck but i have to make a example

i voted for the rx7. and heres my reasoning...i drove a 98 trans am the other day at work (i'm a valet) and i took it out for a little "test drive". to say the least, i was not that impressed. acceleration, grip, style ( or lack thereof). the mach 1 is a nice car, but i'd pick the gt40 over it. the gt40 would have gotten my vote if it were the original. it depends on your tastes man, i'd pick the rx7 and just make it faster than hell, and look awesome. your right, you will have more people asking about the gt40. i dunno about it being a kit car though, if you choose to do that, just dont build it on a fiero base like alot of kit cars are done on

any base that fits if pre 73, i'll replace everything other than the vin and plates. Frame etc will be replaced. It will be stronger and faster than the origional.

Mach 1's are defentally -my- style, everyone who knows me rembers me as the guy who had the mustang, not the guy with the T-bird, or the guy who had the T/A. Most said the T/A fit me, but even still, I lean twords the mustang.

"frame etc will be replaced" With what? Isnt the frame what you want? Or are you talking about the body frame? and just having a rolling chassis in your driveway?

Yeah, we all thought that Mustang was going to be the end of you. I mean... a 67 Mustang with a 6 banger, 3 speed Manual, no interior, floor was partially missing... you could watch the road pass under you, random as hell smell, more random fuel spraying into your eyes when you used the windshield wipers, minimal seat belts.. i dont recall ever having a functional seat belt for the passenger seat... It was Deaths Chariot... as it was named.

And yes, the Trans Am was deffinately you. Its unfortunate it met its demise from a Blazer running a red... not to mention the Lack of oil that was in the engine going up the Grade to Ventura.. that didnt help it out. Mass main bearing knock afterwards. but its 6.6 was due for a freshing up.. it was tired.

Ah you need another. you need a 73 T/A, no Smog make it go hella fast. just dont crash, and i dont think Alex will ever be the same after being on the side that was hit by the blazer (he's ok folks) but not so in the head.

if you're not getting a real gt40, i'd go for a cobra daytona replica...

rx7 isn't rice though... that was kinda oddball...

trans am is straight up hessian... like rock out with your long hair and fire chicken on the hood...

69 vert trans am would be hella nice though...

71 mach 1 would be nice...

69 mach 1 would take the cake...

195mph is not 350kph. It is around 314kph.

Well, there are several good GT-40 kits out there with car specific suspensions and ZF transaxles. Though I agree with Fly. I assume he's talking about the Factory Five Racing Cobra/Cobra Daytona kit. Those have extremely good fit&finish and utilize the running gear off of Fox Body Mustangs. 20K can get you a great running Cobra car and you can enter it in the NASA's Spec Cobra class.

Until you decide that you want to grab parts from the HUMONGOUS 5.0L Mustang aftermarket.
