Foil...Good idea, never thought of that! Do you just cut it to shape and glue it on?
The metal coat paint looks good, I'll have to try some... thanks for the answers.

F1fan- sort of... first i stick some normal masking tape over the chassis area that needs covering, then cut round it with a knife, then take this masking tape template off the chassis and stick on the dull side of the foil... cut this out and then stick this on the opposite side of the chassis (as its a mirror image), then repeat for the other side. Of course this only works if the two sides are symetrical. I use a thin layer of Krystal klear to stick it down.
Hope that helps, if not I'll take some pics next time I do it, which will be sometime this weekend.

Ok I tried that, not too sure what you mean about the masking tape, how do you get the foil off the tape? I keep ripping it. I tried to make a template out of paper and then cut the foil using this but it keeps creasing up and looks bad.
If you could take some pics that would be great.
Cheers....
PS which kit you working on now?

Excellent work Del-R.
To bad what happened to the Marlboro decals, but I think the car is awesome even with de McLaren ones.
My MP4/8 was planed to be also finished. Unfortunately first I had no free time due to excessive work in my job, and second …... I let the almost finished model fall from about 1 meter high, damaging some plastic parts, cracking some decals and losing the shift stick.
What’s your next project? I see you have the Hasegawa Lancia Stratus. I vote for that one.

F1Fan:- No I leave the tape on, that way the foil is stiffer and doesnt crease and its easier to manage. Just stick it down with Krystal Klear.

Gainsb:- Shame to hear about your MP4/8 are you going to try to fix it? I actually bought another mp4/8 and will build it again with Marlboro decals sometime. I like this kit alot as you can guess.

Well at the moment I've nearly finished my MP4/5B, and have started work on the Ferrari F2001 and have began to prepare the Lancia .

For sure, I’m working exclusively on it.
I’m having some more work with the paint, since it hit the floor with is back/right side, fluorescent red pure white and primer went out in some parts. But anyway, apart from all what happened I’m satisfied with the progress.
Can’t wait to see your MP4/5B, and most of all to see the evolution of the Strarus.
I’m sure this one will turn out an excellent model.

So have you had to use florescent red paint now or can you salvage the decals? I have most of the florescent red decals spare if you need them as I used paint, let me know if you want them.

Here is a progress pic of the MP4/5b, I just put the studio 27 hitech decals on, but need to paint a bit of black and also spray the clear coat. I will finish the rear wing tonight. It should be finished and on display by next weekend.
You can see the Lancia's body, I will primer this tomorrow after work.

Thanks Del-R. I used all the fluorescent red decals but the repair I’m doing using TS-36 is going great. The paint match perfectly with the decal colour. There is a slightly difference in the bright but for sure all will be resolved with one our two clear coats.
About your MP4/5B well, you’re very near to finish another great job. I notice you didn’t apply any number our pilot name. Not decided yet between Senna and Berger?
It’s a joy to see the silhouette of the Stratus. Lancia really did classic rally cars.
For me the Stratus, the 037 Rally and the Delta are in the top ten of the most beautiful rally cars of all the times.

Its going to be Senna's Car but just hadn't put them on when I took the picture.

Yes Lancia made some fantastic rally cars, I saw the Lancia Delta Integrale at my local model shop, I may get that after I finish this one.
