Re: My Siverstone 97 pics

In the first set of pics, there are the Gulf Davidoff #1, #2, and #3 (you can't see the car number in the pic, but it's back there). #3 is 20R, #2 is 22R, and #1 is 25R afaik. 28R later wore the #1 at different races. Thanks for posting those new pics, though! I didn't have any pics of 25R in the Gulf colors.

Re: My Siverstone 97 pics

Do you mean the Gulf Day Off? I don't see a Gulf Davidoff car? If so, please confirm the chassis number for that car--or is it a guess because we can't see what race number the car is wearing, since we are looking only at the back of the car?

I am referring to the last pic in the set of 6 (post 14 in this thread, linked to this pic http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p31600899ez.jpg).

Car no 2, Chassis no 22R. Nielson, Bscher. (3rd pic)

Parabolica car is 27R. (4th pic)

All Gulf cars ran in Day off livery, Due to cigarette advertising ban UK.

Hail stone slush on bonnet of Gulf car (pic 5)

I wasn't talking about that picture. I was referring to the garage pic. All the pics are from Silverstone. It's still Team Gulf Davidoff. They put Day Off on the car because tabacoo advertising reasons, but it doesn't change the team name (like in F1 post race interview, they still say Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro even though tabacco ads on cars aren't allowed at some races). Like BE ON EDGE for Benson Hedges...

I have it as definitely #024R, as it also raced at Donington, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring, Zeltweg and Spa all in 1997 using the same number

27R was in the FIA GT Championship for Silverstone in 1997. Placed 6th with Ayles/Goodwin per QV500 info.

Re: My Siverstone 97 pics

Hi Greg, Hope you are not getting confussed with the car taylor&crawley have for sale, as oppossed to 27R at Cars International? If so, they better swap chassis plates. Swapping chassis plates, Now there,s a thought to ponder over!!

Please correct me if I am wrong, 024R first raced LeMan 97, Lehto, Soper, Piquet.

24R did have the Parabolica livery for some races. It did race at the 1997 LeMans 24 Hours with those drivers, but under the BMW Motorsport team livery with the number 42. Other liveries included EMI (red), EMI (blue with Harmon Kardon), and Gulf Davidoff.

27R was at the LeMans 24 Hours in 1997 with the LARK livery. Your 1997 Silverstone picture of 27R has almost the same color combo as the LARK LeMans livery, just a little different.

Re: My Siverstone 97 pics

Yes, we've been wrong sometimes, but not too often.

We're usually pretty clear on whether the chassis number is accurate or a guess. Most of the ones we quote are no longer guesses.

FYI: I moved the rest of this post where I mentioned Paul Stewart's F1 to a new thread.

Re: My Siverstone 97 pics

What is different about 01R in this pic, to when it raced at LeMans 95?

If you stare at the pic long enough, you will miss it. It's that obvious!!!
