Re: moderators?

I'm a 20 year old college student . I attend Olivet Nazarene University (training camp for the Chicago Bears, GO BEARS!) and I'm studying journalism and political science and am currently the Arts & Entertainment Editor for my school newspaper, the Executive Editor of the school Literary and Art Magazine and am on the writing staff for the yearbook. I'm also from central Illinois. In fact, -Josh- and I are cousins and quite good friends. I joined the site because Josh told me about it and thought it would be cool. My dad is master automotive technician so I've grown up around cars. I've been with the same girl for going on a year and four months and love her more each day. There's plenty more, but that should suffice.

Re: moderators?

thats actually pretty cool. (a little wierd) mostly cuz i woulda thought the mods were all techs of some kind. < not to talk you down, im sure you all have a wealth of automotive knowledge. and what... you are all between the ages of what 20 to 25? since some of you are in college still. you all know a lot about cars for being young. i mean i work with guys in the business of working on cars in general, and they know alot, but they are in thier 40's, and 50's, and in the business for at least 20 years. hell my old boss (who retired the position to his son) has changed more tires then i have days in my life (< i know this cuz he told me,intimidating...no ) where do you get most of your answers? i know that a few of you have answered some of my threads with very smart answers. do you have like a source? or is it all off the top of your head stuff?

Re: moderators?

I'm John I have been a mod here since January of 03. I went to a technical college for automotive technology right after I graduated high school and have worked in both GM and Nissan dealerships and briefly for Caterpillar. Between the two carlines I have 11 years of OEM experience in parts and service.

I look forward to the day that I can finally be free of the parts business and the shitty hours that come with it. The only reason I stay is the pay, there is nothing else I could do now and start out making what I'm making now.

I mainly keep an eye on the GM forums, and step in anywhere else I can help.

There's no such thing as someone having a lot of knowledge in the auto industry, there's sooooo much to learn and know, and noone knows more than a minute amount. The knowledge i possess comes from growing up around my dad who was a big auto buff who runs a service department, from going to school for a degree in auto technology with management concentration, and from Swigz dad as well. Also, about my fresh-soph year of high school i started learning as much as i possibly could about cars so i could be the go to guy for car questions with my friends. No one will ever know a lot, just what they put their concentration on. I can do a lot of work on cars but most of my knowledge is general.

Re: moderators?

^And here's Moss, making his comeback entirely to insult the mods. That's what I like to see!
