Talking of hot interiors, I jumped in this Holden Astra at work a few weeks back. Now picture a black car. Now picture that black car with a black leather interior. Now imagine this car sitting in the sun (on a 40 degree celcius day) from 8 in the morning till 5 at night. I sat down started the engine, jumped out and felt like I had grill marks on my ass. Grabbed a seat cover and gunned that car into the place it needed to be. The plastic seat cover had nearly melted to the seat.

The right front spring is saggin (typical of an older b-body) but we picked up a set of Impala SS springs last night from another member in the same club. Once the springs are in, car's aligned and a check to make sure everything's in order, I'llhave him do a big nasty burnout

That's Alex's dream car, but an Impala SS is more expensive than $2500. This was a deal that he just got wind of a few days ago and went and snagged it. He had been talking about getting another B-Body for a daily driver for the last several months...and this deal came along. Trust me I'd love an Impala SS as well, but one in good condition can go for more than $10K+ and we don't want to have to redo the budget for another loan or car payment. We moved into a new house this past summer and the mortgage on this one is 2x what the old place was, so we paid off everything else so we could make the move.

We got the SS springs...so we now have 1/89th of an Impala

I was going to say the same thing. Those cardboard visors for the windshield have come along way since the '80s One good thing these Roadmasters have for those of us who live where the winters are cold are HEATED leather seats, driver and passenger side. ( plus those who have remote car starters can set their a/c to come on when they start the car and have it cooled down before they get in.)

17 city and 25 highway... not bad for a V8 engine.

Actually we did save money by buying the Buick over the Cadillac These are basically the same cars, but a big difference is that people associate Cadillac with "money", so a lot of the replacement parts cost more. So we technically got a car similar to a Cadillac...without the added costs associated with the nameplate
