Re: My best civic hb yet

Very very nice. I think you should send it into SS, they might send some to the owner of the car and possibly publish them. I see nothing wrong with it. Awesome job.

Re: My best civic hb yet

Since you keep bumping for feedback:

Where are the sideview mirrors? And the rear wiper? If they are intentionally missing, you could have filled the holes, if not even to smooth them and paint over it, you could just use a peice of round styrene, painted flat black, to look like the rubber stoppers that people use to plug those holes on 1:1. Did you use a Sharpie for your window rubbers and the windsheild wipers? Good idea, but a paint marker might be better since Sharpie ink isn't opaque and has a purple tinge to it. Cutting the interior in half to replicate a stripped out car is a good idea, but you probably should have cut off the two tall bits of plastic that are intended to hold up the package shelf, because when I open my trunk those aren't there (granted, I have a coupe not a hatch so I might be mistaken). Good work on the strut bracing, though. Your muffler is a bit on the big side and the finisher is thick, like it was made of extremely high guage metal. Telescope a third peice of tube inside it all for the actual tip, and it will be closer to size and thin it by twisting your knife around inside it. You can put a dab of white glue on the backs of the belts so they lay against the seat like the real thing, and you probably would need a bar going across the car behind the seats to anchor the belt to. Good job detail painting the engine bay an adding wires, but the firewall should be body color and the vent material between the engine bay and the windshield is black plastic on 1:1 Civics. Good job on the wheels, they look excellent.

Re: My best civic hb yet

Wow will...There are some things that you could have done better, yes. Its pretty cool tho. I think there are aoshima or fujimi rims that look closer the the 1:1 rims then those ugly revell ones you have there. But if you only could use what you had, then thats good. Same goes for the seats. Nice job on the other little details tho. Keep up the awsome work.

Re: My best civic hb yet

Not to bring back an old thread or anything, but I just found it really wierd that some one done a model based off of the same car that inspired my most recently posted civic. I know I was trying to build a replica of the real car or anything, and not saying that you stole my idea, but this thread just seams to greatly resemble mine.
What do you think?

Re: My best civic hb yet

Very nice. Question though, why is there such a big gap between the front bumper and front fenders? I know on my civic coupe I did I put the body together then painted it. When I went to put it on the chassis the bumpers wouldn't clear the damn chassis, pissed me off lol. I love that color.
