Re: Clutch bypass for Clifford Matrix

Ok, I think I may have found the valet switch; trouble is, I'm NOT sure its the valet switch and if it is, I'm not sure what to do with it. That darn website is really not helpful (www.clifford.com); I would hate to have to take the to an alarm place when I can imagine it's going to be something really simple to fix; I JUST WANT TO ARM my car! lol
I never did get a response as to what button #1 & 2 were suppose to be and if they were the same buttons as the blank and the * one i see close to the LED light...any ideas?
As to the valet switch, what I found was a small black, thin button close to the clutch pedal...might this be it? I dont' see anything else underneath to push lol.
Thanks again for all the help!
Shannon

Goto http://www.clifford.com/guides/ogs/909429.pdf and scroll down to page 11. I assume this is the model of alarm you have since you say that you have a 3 button remote. Hope this helps. Oh, yeah, that little button you are talking about very well could be the valet button. It should look very simular to what you see in the above link

As for no clutch bypass needed? Let's see... throw 12v+ to the starter wire at the steering column, clutch is not depressed... that 12v hits the open clutch switch or open clutch switch relay (depending on the vehicle) and can't go any further. So either you catch the starter wire after the clutch switch, or you bypass the clutch switch with an external relay... either way, you have to bypass the clutch switch.
compustar is teh shiznits like the first guy said, no doubt about it. whats so not FCC legal about it? the spread spectrum technology that they have?

how can you come on here state that the battery only last no more than 24hrs? if it was, then firstech would throw it out the window already, so watch out what you expressed.

most car out there have a two wire system clutch switch, if you want to bypass that bridge that two wire w/ a relay and you got urself a full RS.

Re: Clutch bypass for Clifford Matrix

we carry the matrix series, but like others have said it doesnt support manual remote start.

I'd suggest getting your hands on a Autopage 850-LCD. Great alarm, good renge, good warranty, and alot more features than anything else in its category. Stay away from the 750-LCD tho, that one had range issues.
