i HATE banks!

The whole banking industry has gotten greedy in the last decade or two. Now when you deposit a check, they can put a hold on some or all of the money for any number of days depending on the amount and type of check. But with the new Check21 they instituted last October, once you write a check, that money can immediately be taken out of your account( no more "float time".) So you better make sure you have the funds available BEFORE you write that check.

Dunno why the charges are all different, but I bitched and moaned, and all i could get back was 100 bucks. If i had more time, i woulda tried to get some more, but alas, i had to go to work. Well... lesson learned

Thats why I only use cash from ATM machines. And I always check my balance before I take money out of the machine.

Banks are fucking skanky bastards. Last i heard the regulators in the UK were going to stamp down on them due to the ridiculous time it takes for cheques to clear. Of course, your bank earns interest on YOUR money over this period

I understand the whole "holding some of the deposit" thing. That why i love and hate direct deposit. Before i used direct deposit I used to cash my checks and they used to hold about 60-75% until the following business day. Which could suck on fridays. I hated going to circuit city trying to buy cd's and my card being denied. IT was embarassing. I'd say "....i put my check in there yesterday...." and they would go "...yeah we've heard that before...." until i tell them want bank i deal with. Which is arvest.

Ok. Now for another issue. Loans.

I STILL fucking hate banks and financial institutions. I tried getting a 10k loan for a jetta TDI before, but was denied. Fine whatever, 10k is kind of a lot so i wasn't really suprised. No TDI for me.

Well, i've been looking for a daily beater, and I found by chance, an Acura Vigor for sale pretty close to where I live. As some of you may or may not know, it's the only I5 engine Honda has ever made, and its a GOOD engine, and a GOOD car, and the kid was only asking $2500. Great! I figured i could get a loan for 3k. I mean, what's 3000 to a bank that makes BILLIONS a year?

OF cooooourse they didn't fucking grant me the loan, and you can't buy a decent car for much less than that these days! I'm so pissed. I tried getting a bad/no credit loan online (even though my credit is really good - 700, but i've only had it for a year), and they denied me based that i've only been at my job for 9 or 10 months. What the FUCK! They're more than happy to grant a loan to a jobless degenerate with 5 kids for a brand-spanking new car, but they wont even give me a measily 3 thousand to buy an OLD BEATER!!

And can you believe that there was a guy, trying to sell a 92 civic, with 298,000 MILES for $3,500!! And the worst part is that there's someone out there dumb enouhg to buy it for that price.

God i'm so ticked. A nice vigor slipped thorugh my fingers for this fucking bullshit. You can't borrow money unless you have money..

I gave up on the whole loan thing months ago. I think its just luck to get loans. Its like people with the same type of history can be denied for a small loan of the same amount with a good amount of credit history. Oh and credit cards for young people.......STAY AWAY FROM MORE THAN ONE!!!!!

I recently opened a chequing account at the bank which I ahve had savings account at since I was 12. When you open an account, they give to 4 free cheques. I went through those then went to buy a book of cheques. Guess how much they wanted to charge me? $20 for 25 cheques. This does not include the fees that they charge you when you use a cheque. $20 for 25 slips of paper. (Then again, a $20 is just another slip of paper...)

Guess what I found out a month after I opened that account? Anyone who switches their chequing account from another bank to them gets a free iPod Shuffle. Way to fucking go TD Bank... entice new customers with rewards and screw the people who have been with you for years...

As soon as a bank wants to charge you for anything, simply ask if they'll waive the fees. If they don't, do not open the account or simply withdraw all your money. If they hand out free stuff to new accounts (assuming you would otherwise qualify), ask for one yourself and if they don't, take out all your money.

One hundred or one hundred thousand dollars, banks don't like to lose business.
