If you have your mom in the states, and you can get a written contract to accept liability for any damages you would be pretty well covered. Just take lots of pictures, write down mileage and let them know you did, then they won't be tempted to even mess around with it. If they go out of business or something happens your mom is still in town, just make sure her name is on the contract as someone who can act as your power of attourney if things do happen in your absense.
Of course use your judgement, if they have only been around since october, then maybe think twice, if they have been there years and the shop doesn't show signs of lack of business and looks nice then they are probably ok, and just think if you have that nice new stereo in there, who knows what you might get offered next to show your car. |

Just make sure to have everything documented in writing. Talk to them for at least a half hour with your car there about what you want them to do. Also, take down notes on everything they are going to install. I have seen shops do installs with high current amps connected to the primary battery which wore out the cars electrical system. Finally, make sure that THEY ARE liable for ANY/ALL damages done during and after the install. I don't know much about ARC products, but their amps look good from what I have seen. Good luck!
