Jeez guys, try living with a modeler!! Every time I have a great idea, I'm too busy to build it, so someone else....gets to. Of course, I've stolen one or two of Will's as well, but mostly it's group brainstorming and he gets to build them. However, one of these days I'm going to start on my "Mona Lisa," if you will...the model I've wanted to build for about 2 years now, but I don't think my skills are advanced enough.

My to-build kits are in the bedroom stacked along one wall, it's hard to look at sometimes!

ImolaEK, what kinda Honda are you gonna get?

i know how it is, that's why it takes me such a long time to finish something. currently i have a fairlady z on the table, with some slight mods to it. after a few days i looked through the tamiya catalogue and saw the convertible version. at first i didn't really bother with any ideas at all. then after sleeping it off, i discovered some color combos and such for the kit. now i'm so tempted to buy it. as of now i still have so much to do in such a little time with school and life in general. to add another one to the list is another time well wasted, i guess. on another note, i'm a design student with endless thoughts. that in some way or another i have to vent them out through car modeling. eek!

Re: I hate models!

like a few of you, i feel i need to take a break. i just recently got into modeling again and have picked up at least ten new kits since the new year with more stuff on order. i recently started making molds of certain 1/24 items and i'm concentrating on that. but i do think i will take break. aside from the 1/24 scale, i recently acquired a set of authentice OEM sideskirts for the AE86 that people would like so my current project is making copies. i already have a waiting list of buyers so i can't pass up the opportunity to make some money. but when i have some extra time, watch out! i'll have a specific theme of cars that will blow all of you guys away!!!

Re: I hate models!

I think we all have the same problem,to many ideas and to many kits.I have lost count but i think my kit collection has raised to about 1400,90% are cars.To be honest i have only completed about 6 kits and 50 that are half built in 30 years, not bad eh.I can sit down for hours just looking at the boxes and parts having lots of ideas, but when i get started something new gets in my hands and i start over again.I know i will never get all the kits finished but its still fun.

Re: I hate models!

I think that there is a saying: " The curse of multiple choices". Let me explain:
If you have ,let`s say three kits on the shelf, how many ways can u build/combine them?
If you the have 100+ kits on the shelf, you can just imagine what this will do! So many ideas start popping up. Engine from this kit, and wheels from that, schratchbuild that e.t.c. Soon you will be doing your 6544th mock-up of the year (usually at 01:31 am right..)

It`s a shame i cant build all ideas i have, but it`s okay because next week my brain have produced a fresh new bunch of them..

Re: I hate models!

I take a break avery day!!! I usually build about 5 hours a week, unless I have a deadline or just get into a good kit/project that just goes really well. at this rate, I may finish 10 kits by the time I retire!!!! ahhahahah, and I am only 29!!!!!

Actually I collect diecasts (1:43 Minichamps etc. mostly) and build models from kits in different scales. They just don't do enough kits of cars of my interest, so I have to go with the diecast, if I want to have those models on my shelf.

And model building is not my only hobby and at least my time is very limited, as I work a lot abroad.

i just understand what you feel,
since the beginning of 2005 i sleep about 5-6 hours a night to do my models and i don't feel to go faster,
too much ideas, not enough time, too many stock kits...
