Re: revell 69 camaro progress

Updates:
The rear frame is done, as well as the whell wells. I had to shorten the gas tank to fit between the frame rails. (a bigger engine and a smaller gas tank )

Now there's a lot of space for the gums

Re: revell 69 camaro progress

Nice! But dont glue that old gas tank back in place. Put a fule sell in the thrunk in stead. i know alot of people that have done that to their streat leagal cars. and it does look good if you can pop the thrunk and in there you have the gas tank.

Here's what i made so far:

I followed anton's advice and decided to scrap the gaz tank. Then i decided to open the trunk to display the fuell cell (still to be done)

Closed:

Opened:

Styrene strips were glued to reduce the opening gaps of the trunk, and to build a new opening gate on the body.

I made new offset wheels at the rear, using PVC tubing, and inserting the dish into them. I bought a 2.5 meter long tube and used only 3 cm

You can also see the side skirts, the exhaust tips will be right under the filled air intakes.

And finally the LT-1 engine, with exhaust ports drilled, waiting for new headers:

I decided the engine setup, but i won't tell more about that until it's done. It will envolve massive hood cutting, and will end as an undrivable car on wet track !

Looks like a great model coming together! I like the notched spoiler idea and great job opening the trunk.

I got the bodywork done, so i started painting this one. Tamiya medium gray as primer, and motip touch up pencil for the blue/purple color.

i made side exits for the exhaust (not really visible on the pic) and sectionned the rear panels, added styrene strips and glued all in place, lower and wider. Now the rear fenders follow the side skirts.

I'll add a slightly lighter blue flamming and clear coat it, then i'll continue the chassis mods. The headers are done, but i decided to build a new front frame and install the '95 camaro suspension.
