Looks good so far. I have this kit also, I noticed you removed all the moulded in screen. Are you replacing it with regular screen? I see Studio 27 have a sheet out which has about 3 different sizes of screens whereas Acu-stions screen are all one size. I hope mine will look half as good as yours.

Re: In Progress - Lamborghini Jota SVR

I really like those Eduoard (or whatever) seatbelts, I'll have to give them a try. I've been waiting to see them in a model. This whole things looks great - the interior is hardcore! Mister....

Re: In Progress - Lamborghini Jota SVR

Looks like another masterpiece in the making, Matt.
Am I correct in thinking there was only ever one genuine Miura Jota? I thought I remember reading that somewhere.

Well, the whole Jota thing is actually a jumble. There was ONE racing Jota built by Dallara and Bob Wallace to test the idea of how well the Miura would work as a race car to face off against Ferrari 365GTB/4's, Porsche 911's, and the like. The car itself was a phenomeonal performer, but due to Ferrucio Lamborghini's inherent dislike of motorsports, the project was dropped and the one race Miura Jota never saw competition.

However, the factory did build a few Miura Jota copies that were sold as rarified supercars (kind of like the C12S Monza version of the Pagani Zonda). Also, several production Miuras (including a few of the hypercar SV's) were converted privately into Jotas.

In reality, there's one real Jota that no longer exists as it was destroyed in a testing crash.

Five real factory street Jotas which are watched like hawks and carefully documented amongst collectors. The most famous of which was originally owned by the Shah of Iran, and eventually found its way into the hands of Nicolas Cage.

(the world's most valuable Lamborghini, the Shah's Jota, sold to Nicolas Cage at auction for $480,000)

(chassis #5100, currently under restoration. One of only two Jotas that was delivered as a Jota and not as a Miura, the other being the Shah's car. Also curious because it's also the only Jota to ever have been converted back into a Miura SV)

And 13 Miuras that received owner requested Jota makeovers whether factory or not.

It's a pretty neat car.

Amazing! Keep up the good work! I was wondering what the 3 rings on the passenger side dash were.

Good eye! I forgot to mention that modification. I will be using Detail Master stainless steel mesh in the openings behind the rear wheels, and between the rear lights.
This body also had all these little rivets around those openings which I sanded off for ease of polishing. I haven't decided if I'm going to replace them with PE pieces or not.

That is correct. Layla's Keeper explained the whole Jota history well. Thank you. Here is a link to the Lamborghini registry that explains each car in detail. CLICK HERE for Jota details
___

After looking at those pics in the link above, I've noticed that the lip spoiler that comes in the kit is for a Miura converted to a Jota. It is longer and almost touches the front wheel well. The true Jotas had a shorter lip spoiler that ends below the headlights.

I guess since mine is not a true Jota color, I can call this a Miura with SVJ upgrades, I wish I would've found this kit error sooner.

TIP: Anyone wanting to make a true factory Jota out of this new Hasegawa kit will have to fill the hole on the body in front of the front wheel well, and shorten the lip spoiler.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Hey no problem Cad, but I expect a full review on both Miura kits, since as I recall you've built a Miura SV as well as this Jota.

Re: In Progress - Lamborghini Jota SVR

Thanks for the rundown on the Jota, Justin and Matt. Nice to see somebody like Nicolas Cage knows how to spend his money...
