In Progress - Lamborghini Jota SVR

Here's some progress on a car I've been working on for some time now.

So far I've painted the body and kick panels. The body color is Tamiya's Telephonica Blue. I've also painted the interior a few shades of blue, and started detail painting it. The kit came with decals for the racing harness's, but I plan on replacing them with the PE set by Eduard shown. Hopefully they will look good.

I've had a couple problems with this body that need fixed. I cracked the A-pillar removing the masking tape after painting the lower panels aluminum. I also cracked the lower rear fascia at the same time. Hopefully after some sanding, touch-up paint, and repolishing neither will be noticeable..

Here's some pics.

Cool!

It's like the Shah of Persia's been taking steroids and spending 6 hours a day at the gym!

Can't wait to see this one finished. Looks like we're going to have a pretty cool corral of Lambos at the show!

Looks like we can expect another great model.

I love that color on the older Lambo body style.
Really looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Keep up the great work....

These Eduard PE seatbelts are great. They are extremely easy to use.
No glue was necessary, except to attach the buckle. I did make an OOPS on the left shoulder belt. I have to flip the lower belt over and bend it the correct way. There will have to be some touch up at some of the bends. The paint cracks at every bend, which is to be expected. But if you bend it cleanly, it is hidden by the buckles and other hardware.
This one seat took about 1/2 hour to do. Much quicker than the fabric type that you have to measure and cut yourself.

Here's a pic of the first seat nearly done.

Thanks for the great comments so far. I'd like to have this done for the ACME model show on November 13th, but if I don't complete it that will be fine too. I'd rather have it correct, than done.
Thanks for looking!

It will be interesting to see this car in a dark color.
Is there a semiglossy finish on the belts, as there appears to be in the last pic?

The finish on the belts is a bit odd. It looks to be silkscreened with semi-gloss paint. the slight texture due to silk screening gives it a beliveable flatter look. Not as realistic as ribbon, but not bad.
I'd definately reccommend a set.

I picked them up from MediaMix Hobby. One package for $8 is enough for 2 seats. So not a bad deal. I think they have 1/20, 1/24, and 1/43 scales for these belts too.
