It's a Hyundai. A economy car designed for low octane. Don't worry about it.

It wouldn't be an economy car if it ran off of high octane would it? Wouldn't be very... economical.

if it says use 87, then use 87. if it's designed to run on low octane, it won't run beter; as the engine is not designed to use a higher octane mixture. the biggest issue is the detriment that using low octane in a higher octane required engine will have on performance (and engine life).

u need to read wut other members have written to u man.

its un-needed and can actually end up hurting ur motor as well as ur wallet. there is no need to use it, so why do it?

A higher octane gas can resist more compression before it spontaneously ignites. So with a higher compression engine, either static compression or dynamic from boost, a low octane gas can end up igniting during the compression stroke, called detonation, or pinging, or knocking, etc. So you use a higher octane to keep it from detonating until you want it to, during the combustion stroke that is. If your car isn't knocking, there is no reason to run higher octane.

In short, for your car, save your money and burn the cheap stuff.
